Chapter 10: A Glimpse of the Past

Arya's POV

I took a taxi on the way to school. I was feeling weird, like I had a sixth sense that's warning me about something. I just can't point out what the heck it is.

It was a pretty uneventful and lonely day dahil kapag wala si Lynch, wala na akong kasama. I was pretty much friendless. When I transferred here during grade 9, I was an introvert but I did talk, however, people disliked me because whenever I do talk, I always tell them something that they hide or when they badmouth people. Ano naman ang mali sa pagiging honest? I was pretty much dubbed as the Know-It-All.

"Hey, Arya. It seems like you are in deep thought." It's been so long since I saw him. "Marky! Long time, no see! Ang tagal na kitang hindi nakita ah?"

Tumawa naman siya sabay kamot ng kanyang buhok. "Oo, nga. I had to set my affairs, marami din akong inasikaso regarding...you know, Marion...That's why I couldn't come to school." I really wanted to comfort him but I know that he wouldn't want to be pitied.

After a long awkward silence, Marky spoke up, "So, where's your boyfriend?"

Halos naiduro ko ang iniinom kong tubig dahil sa sinabi niya, "I'm sorry, what? Pakiulit?"

"I said, where's your boyfriend?" He was wiggling his eyes, which looked creepy, might I say, and he had a suggestive look on his face. "Kadiri mo, bes. At wala akong boyfriend. Walang forever kaya. Kung hinahanap mo si asungot, nasa bahay nila dahil may sakit." Napakunot naman ako sa noo.

Apart from the conversation with Marky, nothing much happened that day...until it got dark.

I stopped walking. So did the footsteps. Shit! Someone's following me. I made a run for it. Unfortunately, so did the other person.

Halos sampung minutos na kaming nagtatakbohan. I was so frustrated and tired kaya tumigil ako sa pagtatakbo at pumunta sa direksyon nang taong humahabol sa akin. I knew it was dangerous but I was willing to take the risk...After all those trainings I've had.

I saw my follower from a few meters from me and I just stopped. She was in a half mask but still, I could recognize her. Those same dark brown eyes. The red dyed hair. Even I recognized her figure. "Bellona."

She removed the mask and smirked upon the recognition. "So, naaalala mo pa pala kami. I thought you forgot about us, sister."

This cannot be happening. "You hid well, we weren't able to find you for years."

My heart was beating very fast, "Paano mo ako nahanap?"

"I have my ways, dearest sister. The Tritones calls for you, they want you to come back."

Bigla naman akong nagalit, when have they ever given care for me? They only wanted pawns to play their games. "No! I will not go back to you! Natakasan ko na ang lahat ng nakaraan na bumabangungot sa akin! Ayaw ko na."

"Just think about it, Athena. And what is this ridiculous name that you call yourself? Arya?" Her eyes softened a bit. I still remember the times we were together...Until Pallas was...
