It took everything in him not to run away like a coward to save his pride. He knew better than do that. He was aware that he had done mistakes, many of them but this one was bigger than he realized while doing it six years ago. Now it was time to apologize.

Never had Chris thought that his actions had that kind of consequences or maybe he did but simply didn't care. He was a stupid, arrogant teenage boy so he wouldn't be surprised if the second option was the right one.

He remembered some of it but mostly it was all about getting revenge to Bree. She had done something to him and like always, he wanted to make her regret for trying to play games with him. What could be better revenge than ruining her friendship with one guy who had magically managed to get the title as her best friend?

That's what he had wanted and it had made him smile when those two had a loud argument at school, in front of all the students and even teachers, only leading to her cursing and crying at the same time. That was one of the few times when she had to shed tears. She didn't cry again but it was clear that she was miserable.

Now, sitting in front of people whose friendship he ruined, he couldn't be more ashamed. He kept cursing himself and thinking what was he thinking but none of it mattered anymore. Hell, he had forgotten all that when she left in the middle of senior year.

He couldn't help but wonder how could a woman like Bree forgive a man like him? Now he knew that nothing that she did to him was even close to what he did. As much as he wanted to be happy that she didn't go as far as he, he wished that she would have done it. That's what he deserved.

She was an angel. He had thought so many times while spending time together and had gotten to know each other better, something that neither one bothered to do in high school. And during those times, he realized that her beauty was much more than the way she looked. Her golden heart forgave people who deserved it the least, Chris being one of them himself.

As the minutes went by, he managed to get Wesley's forgiveness although he knew it was all because of her. He was aware that because those two were friends in high school, the man cared more about getting on her good side than actually putting their fight in the past.

Chris wanted to say something about that and start another argument but all he did was roll his eyes. But the main thing was that all was forgiven and Bree was happy with him. Unfortunately, she couldn't stop talking about all the things that the three of them could do and when Wesley should be introduced to others.

"He's such a nice guy, I bet they will love him!" For some reason, he couldn't help but get jealous after hearing those words from her. The woman he liked, maybe even loved, was so incredibly happy to be with another man. It had been a while since she was so happy with him like she was with Wesley.

He was long gone in her life for years and suddenly he was everywhere, getting all her attention. If it was up to him, he would be the only man in her life besides Brett and Quentin. Now that Chris was more aware of his feelings for Bree, it was getting harder to see her smiling even with their friends' company.

Knowing what a manwhore Patrick was, he had been hesitating whether it was a good idea to have the two of them in the same room. Now he knew better and was actually happy to see her spending time with their friends. It reminded him so much of the sassy teenage girl he used to hate with a passion.

Luckily, tonight he didn't need to worry about Wesley too much because soon the man was leaving. "I gotta go, my place is a mess and boxes and bags are waiting to be unpacked."

He couldn't care a less but Bree seemed to be disappointed that he was leaving so early. Fucking hell, where did she need Wesley when she already had Chris wrapped around her pretty little fingers?
