"That fucking bitch! Who does he think he is?! 'Just a warm mouth to me' bullshit. I probably gave him his first blowjob because Lord knows he wouldn't get one from someone else."

I was now pacing in our room, ranting as Natsu sat on our bed, just listening.

"Come to think of it, I was probably a lot of his firsts, so I don't know who the fuck he thinks is waiting for him. His blow up dolls are probably made of ice..." I huffed.

"Baz, I think you're focusing on other things he said to keep your mind off what's really bothering you." Natsu said, and I stopped pacing and turned to sit beside him, bringing my knees up to my chest and hugged them.

"Do you think that's why my dad left? Because he figured out how big of a fuckup I'd become?" I asked and Natsu sighed.

"No, Baz. I don't know why he left, but I know for a fact that he didn't leave because he thought you would be a fuckup. And you're not." Natsu said, holding my shoulder in his hand.

"I am-" I tried.

"You're not." Natsu said and forced me to look at him. "Listen to me, Baz. You're a strong girl, you're a talented wizard, and you're a member of the best, most awesome guild there is! How could you even begin to think you're a fuckup with those accomplishments?" Natsu beamed.

I looked at him and smiled, then stood up, grabbing a bag from the closet I used to pack things in.

"What are you doing? Where are you going?" Natsu stood to ask.

"I'm going to visit my mom. Stay with her a little while. At least until I get my head on straight." I gave a sure nod.

"Okay." Natsu said and got his bag from the closet.

"What are you doing?" I paused and looked at him.

"Obviously I'm coming with you." He said.

"Natsu, no, you're not. I don't know how long I'll be gone, and the guild needs you." I said and he grinned while still packing.

"They'll survive."

"Natsu, I'm serious." I said, and this made him stand up straight and look at me.

"Baz, so am I. I promised your mom I'd look out for you, and I don't go back on my promises." He said.

"But I might not come back." I said and he shrugged.

"Then we'll write the guild that we quit. Easy as that." He said, and I was stunned.

"Why would you... do that for me?" I asked and he smiled.

"I've told you at least a dozen times. You're my family. I love you." He shrugged and I smiled and went over to hug him.

"I love you too, you fucking idiot." I said and he laughed, rubbing my back.

"Come on, get packing. If we leave soon, we can make it by dinner." He said and I nodded and got to packing as Happy flew in.

"Hey, what's happening?" He asked as we packed.

"Happy, Baz and I are going to spend some time away from the guild. We don't know how long yet. Wanna come?" Natsu asked him.

"Sure!" Happy said. "It'll be like a vacation!"

"Yeah, like a vacation." I agreed as he got to packing as well.

In less than half an hour, we were off, a note on our door explaining that we just kind of... left, and that we'd be back we don't know when.

It took hours to get to mom's house, where she greeted us warmly and let us rest and eat before we three explained the situation.

"Long story short, Gray was an asshole to Baz, Baz blew up, I got her out of there, she wanted to leave, I wanted to come with, and here we are." Natsu said to my mom over after dinner tea.

"I see. Honey, I am so sorry it didn't work out." She said to me and I shrugged. "Natsu, sweetie, thank you for taking care of her."

"I promised I would." Natsu nodded.

"Call me mom, honey." Mom smiled at him, and I watched his face light up.

"We... should get to bed. It's been a long day." I said and stood up, and Natsu did as well.

"Do you need me to show you to your room, Natsu?" She asked as we started towards the stairs.

"He... sleeps with me." I said. "Not a romantic thing, just..."

"I know, honey. Goodnight, you two." She smiled.

"Night, mom." I said.

"Yeah, night... mom." Natsu smiled before following me up the stairs and into my old room. We lied down after getting ready for bed, and faced each other to talk quietly.

"Baz, I was... abandoned by my parents at a really young age." Natsu said, and I listened. "I don't remember if I even had parents. I mean, a dragon found me and raised me, but then he left too, so... what I'm trying to say is that family is hard to come by. And I've never really had anyone to call mom, or to call my family. So... thank you."

I hugged him around his neck before settling down to fall asleep next to him.

"No, Natsu. Thank you." I said as I cuddled into a person I could call my true family.
