Your POV:

I sat and stared at my phone.

A bubble appeared under Mal's response from earlier.

She's typing.

"Oh shit." I put my phone down and stared at it.

I told them

I read it. Yeah, no shit Mal.

And?

And they can't wait to meet you

I froze.

Mal's POV:

"You should invite her for Thanksgiving." My mom smiled.

"Really? Thanksgiving is family time."

"Thanksgiving is about coming together and giving thanks to those important in our lives. Y/N is clearly very important to you and makes you very happy."

"She doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving. Thinks its stupid."

"We don't have to agree with all that about Thanksgiving, but there is a lot of food." My dad said. "Does she celebrate food?"

"Yeah."

"Then invite her."

"I will." I said. "Don't know if she'll come but I'll ask."

I walked into the other room and called her. "Hello?" She answered.

"Were you sleeping?"

"Yes. I had an early class today and work. I'm tired." I laughed. "What's up?"

"What are you doing for Thanksgiving?"

"I hate it what do you think I'm doing?"

"I mean where will you be?"

"Probably in this sick house I have now."

"Come to Colorado. My parents invited you."

"They know I hate Thanksgiving right?"

"Yes but you love food."

"Shit you right." She said. "Fine. I will come for Thanksgiving."

"Yay!" I smiled. "I can't wait."

"I have a paper to write." She said. "So I will call you later. Tell your parents I can't wait to meet them."

"I will tell them." I smiled. "Bye."

She said bye and hung up.

Your POV:

I walked into work right after the phone call. "What is up with you?"

"I have a paper due tomorrow that I haven't started. Oh yeah, and my girlfriends family just invited me for Thanksgiving." I smiled. "Just a normal Thursday!"

"You are freaking out."

"I've never made it to meeting the family! Cause families tend to hate me!"

"Just be yourself! You'll be fine."

"She's meeting her girlfriend's family and your advice is for her to be herself?" My boss laughed. "Good luck with that."

"Why? She's not that bad!"

"A baby cried on the bus once and I said, "shut your baby the fuck up"  to the mother."

"Oh my god you ARE that bad."
