Gaius stared worriedly at Merlin's body, like everyone else, he was wondering why Merlin had been in the lake. Arthur burst in unexpectedly causing Gaius to jump in suprise.
"Sire," Gaius acknowledged, but Arthur didn't listen.
"How is he, Gaius?"
"I'm afraid it is a case of waiting to see if he wakes up or... You were lucky you found him in time and got to me quickly," Gaius said thinking of the consequences.
Arthur sat near Merlin wishing he would wake up and make a witty remark.
"Merlin please," he softly whispered repetitively.
"You have no idea why he was there? In the lake?" Gaius queried
"No," Arthur grimly replied, "although... Gaius he hasn't been himself lately. He's seemed a lot less... happy. You don't think?"
"I wonder..." He replied deep in thought.
