(Just so you know. Sophie is sixteen/seventeen/finishing Foxfire and Fitz is eighteen/nineteen/in the second/third years of the silver towers.)

Sophie finished scrubbing her hands at the sink, wiping down her face with her wet hands she reached for the towel. Grady and Edaline were on a double date with Juline and Kesler, and Dex and Biama were on a different double date with Keefe and Linh. Sophie had just finished pulling the weeds around Calla's tree.

Sandor was in Atlantis for big wedding in his family. Sophie found the towel and dried her hands before patting her face down. Taking a deep breath to relax Sophie opened her eyes and blinked. "What are you doing here?" She asked blushing. It had only been a few days after the whole sweet sixteen kiss, and Sophie had been avoiding Fitz. They never talked about their feelings very much, or the stolen kisses, altogether it was awkward and tense between them.

"I came to see you." Fitz said as he straightened up from leaning against the counter. "How come I didn't hear you come in?" Sophie asked doing her best to ignore her pounding heart and the flipping butterflies. "I seen you by Calla so I let myself in to wait." Fitz said. "Oh." Sophie dropped the towel onto the counter. "You need the cognate journal right?" She asked as she passed by him and went to the living room. "Actua-"

"It's in my room." She said before Fitz could finish his answer. "I was looking over it last night and I found out we can pool our energy." She said rambling, even though Fitz probably knew it all already he listened as they reached her room. Sophie pushed the door open. "Iggy chewed holes all over my blankets because he doesn't want to be on a diet." Sophie explained, having forgot her bed had been striped of all the bedding. Only her cape was strewn over the back of her chair. "Hey Soph." Fitz said as he closed the door.

Sophie turned to face him, in a movement so sudden she nearly didn't see it, Fitz had grasped her face and crashed his lips to her.

All but melting, Sophie let her arms wrap and coil around Fitz.

Sophie couldn't help but give out a sigh of bliss and confusion. Why did everything with Fitz feel so different? Confusing and peaceful all at once. "What's wrong?" Fitz whispered from beside her, his fingers slowly making a repeating trail up and down her arm.

Sophie flushed. She had just made out with Fitz Vacker, and now they were cuddled up together on a blank bed and a very unhappy imp snarling at them from his cage. Sophie hesitantly reached up and pressed her fingers to her swollen lips. "Nothing." Sophie answered. Fitz pushed himself up on his elbow and looked down at her. "What's wrong Sophie?" He asked again as his free hand trailed down her face. "Nothin-"

"Sophie, don't you dare give me that stupid excuse of an answer. Something is wrong, and I don't you to keep that to yourself. We're cognates- hm!" Sophie grabbed the front of his tunic and pulled his face down to hers and kissed him softly. Unlike their earlier make out session, this kiss was slow, soft, sweet and gentle, making Sophie's toes curl.
When they broke the kiss she couldn't help but smile her eyes still closed with the sweetness of the kiss. "Nothing." She said against his lips. This time nothing felt wrong, and Fitz smiled against her mouth and kissed her again, and again, and again.

Sophie giggled as she fell against the bed, "Seriously?" She asked. Fitz grinned down at her. "Seriously." He said as he kissed her again before settling back down beside her and pulling her close. "The silver towers are not what I expected." He mumbled. "What were you expecting?" Sophie asked. Fitz let a low throaty scoff. "I really don't know. Maybe a little less homework." He said making Sophie laugh. "Hm. Homework, right so exhausting." Sophie teased. Fitz rolled his eyes, "Wait till you get to the silver towers." He said. "I mean I would...but I've already been there done that." Sophie said reminding him of her inflicting.

"Of course you have." Fitz mumbled as he leaned forward to kiss her again. Just as their lips brushed his imparter chimed and he gave a low growl, before looking into her eyes, he smiled before kissing her quickly and rolling over, and sitting at the edge of the bed and answering his imparter

"What Oliver?" He asked. "Hey man, Aster just gave us another assignments." Oliver said. Fitz groaned and ran a hand through his hair. "Come on can't it wait? I'm with Sophie right now."

"I know, sorry, but the initiation of the new students are starting in half an hour, and this has to be done. Plus Aster asked for you to make a speech." Fitz let out an annoyed breath as he ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah fine I'll be there." He said. "Just." He glanced over his shoulder at Sophie before smiling. "Give me ten more minutes." He hung up before tossing his impart on his bag and rolling back over to Sophie, with a mischievous smile, he kissed her. "How was your day?" He asked.

"I'd rather not talk about that, if we have fifteen more minutes." Sophie flushed before kissing him again. Fitz mumbled against her lips before pulling away. "No, no no I want to hear about your day." He said. "It was boring." Sophie said as she pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth. "I don't care." Fitz said as he buried his face in the crook of her neck. "I want to hear about you. Everything I've missed boring or not."

"Fitz it-" Sophie cut off as Fitz pulled away to look her in the eye. "Please Sophie." She let out a breath as happiness filled her. "Fine." She said before stealing one last kiss.

Fitz smiled his movie star worthy smile at her before he hugged her close, and Sophie told him.
