The brunette is doing his mundane things, which is getting ready for school after a night of working as a pizza delivery person. He is the only one that works in his family; when he meant by family, he meant his crackhead father. The old man doesn't do anything except do drugs and let creeps in the house. Therefore one person that is working one job equals poor quality living. They live in the 'bad' side of the city where drug dealers are walking around and people are dying within a heartbeat. There isn't much gun violence around, which Luke is glad because he actually wants to live. Even though soulmates are a thing, it doesn't mean that the world is a happy place.
He pull on his beanie and stares at himself in the cracked mirror, which was from his father. He hope that he doesn't live like this forever and want to live in a peaceful neighbourhood with his soulmate and happy family. Or to Luke, 'the goal that is too much to ask for'.
He has to pull on his hard look on his face so he can survive the war outside. Where he lives, it's not particularly safe for someone his age or younger to be out alone. His only transportation is a skateboard as he quickly made his way out of the area. The brunette was not looking forward to the long day of school because of the annoying dirty blonde that talks to him.
He doesn't make friends and doesn't plan on to anytime soon. Plus, he doesn't understand the whole concept of trusting someone with everything and end up breaking everything. Which doesn't suit him as he has made it through the last eleven years being alone and not communicating with anyone. Or he wish he could say that. Like they said, friends come and go.
The brunette is bewildered that the dirty blonde is trying to get him to make friends and talk more. It sounds absolutely absurd to him because he's simply wasting his time on something that will never be fixed.
With his thoughts wrap him like a python with its victim, he found himself on the school's ground. The sight made him groan as he picks up his skateboard and waits for a moment as he's mentally preparing himself to walk inside the building that he's stuck in for the next seven hours.
As he was doing that, he heard a familiar voice in the distance as he curse under his breath. He turn to look in the direction and saw the dirty blonde with a girl, hugging their father goodbye inside the car. He saw the love in that hug and felt his chest burn at the sight; the burn of burning jealousy.
The burning jealousy was that he never experienced that with his father, he won't say anything about his mother as she left them when he was young. He never experienced the love that a family should have, all he ever got was nothing. His father doesn't care about him, he doesn't care if Luke dies as the old man only care about are his drugs. No one is going to know about the raging feeling.
He left the spot before the dirty blonde could lay his eyes on him, and went to blend in with the large crowd of students walking into the school.
Everything is a blur as he find himself sitting at his usual lunch table. He used to enjoy lunch as he doesn't have to do anything for a half hour; now he dreads it because that is when the dirty blonde comes and talks to him.
Does he remember his name?
No.Does he care?
No.Suddenly he arrives at the table and Luke respond with the same glare everyday.
"Hello Luke, how are you?"
"I was doing great until you arrive." he respond with a huff, his glare never changing.
Then watch as a smile slightly falter from his face, but tried to keep it strong.
"Anyways, how has your day been going?"
