Ashton doesn't know who else to talk to anymore since Calum is extremely negative about him trying to get Luke out of his comfort zone. He doesn't really talk to Michael since he's even more negative about Luke than Calum is. He can try to talk to Phoebe since they haven't talked much. And that is what he's doing now.

He found himself sitting at a bench with her during lunch. The dirty blonde doesn't feel like going into the canteen and seeing the brunette.

"What's been going with you?" she ask once everyone is doing their own business.

"I feel like you are the only one that I want to talk right now. It feels like Calum and Michael aren't the best for me." Ashton sighs.

"Why?"

"I don't know, it's for a stupid reason."

"Is it about Luke?"

"Yeah. Am I forcing him to speak? Do I come off as being pushy?" he ask the now light pink haired girl.

"Well, I guess you are forcing him to speak. But I don't see why that's being pushy. If you want to get him out of his comfort zone, someone has to force him to do things he wouldn't enjoy doing. That's what you are doing."

He takes that for consideration because it is true. He's trying to help get Luke out of his comfort zone and that's how it's going to happen. But he's not forcing his life to do anything.

"Calum is being so negative about it and I don't understand why. If I want to try then I should try. He can't control what I can and can't do." Ashton scoffs.

"I've known Calum for many years and I can tell you that he's like that at times. You shouldn't let it get to you because you are an independent person. That's what I do, because hey, I'm my own person and he's his own person."

There is a moment of silence as Ashton is staring off into the distance. There has been a question that he wanted someone to answer for awhile now. But he can't ask Luke himself because he'll give him a bullshit answer. He was going to ask Calum, but he never got around to it.

"Why is he mad all the time?"

Phoebe bite her lower lip in concentration as she tries to figure out why the brunette is mad all the time.

"If I remember clearly, the reason he is mad because he can't find his soulmate." she respond after a bit.

"Really, that's it?"

"That's apart of the reason, there could be more. Then again, I overheard it from someone awhile ago."

He nods before looking in the distance in search for something to talk about.

"Have you found your soulmate?" he ask her since he is curious. Plus, he doesn't know much about her life so why not start now?

"Yes I have." she brightly smiles as she stares at her wrist at the legible ink. Which also says eighteen, so Ashton has hope to find his.

"Really! Who is it?" Ashton ask in excitement since he is happy for her.

"Zir name is Chris and zie is two years older than me."

A bright smile grew on Ashton's face because of the pronoun Phoebe's other half uses.

"Before you judge, no I don't have lisps. Chris is genderqueer and that is Chris's pronouns so you better respect that." she defend her other half and Ashton understands because people can be rude and not use the correct pronouns on people.

"Hey I know, I'm also apart of the community. But I'm so happy for you that you found your other half and I wish you and Chris peace." the dirty blonde smiles at her.

"I would love to meet zir someday." he adds.

A smile crept on her face as they stare at the area around them.

After a moment she brought up the topic of Luke again. "In all seriousness, I don't believe you are wasting your time. Just don't listen to Calum and Michael because you don't need the negativity in your life."

He nod in response and in the corner of his eyes, he saw the brunette walking. Ashton stayed put but his mind is urging him to go and talk to him. He watch his opportunity slip by and decides to leave the brunette alone.
