5 | NEW YEAR INTERLUDE

KYULKYUNG was in fact a daddy's girl. Even though her mother is long dead, mahal na mahal niya ang kaniyang ama kabila ng mga pang-aabusong ginagawa nito sa kaniya. She's been through a lot of pain, and they were all because of his father. Kyulkyung was first hurt and it's because of his father.

Kahit na hindi alam ni Kyulkyung ang gagawin, ay mas pinili na lamang niyang tumayo at maglakad-lakad. She walked around the vast hallways again and again, hindi niya alam ang gagawin upang maibsan din ang kaniyang pagiging bored.

While walking, she stopped in front of a big double door. For a moment, she only stared at it and did nothing. She also wanted to walk pass it but she just couldn't. Mukha bang may humihila sa kaniya na nanggagaling sa loob nito.

She knocked slightly pero no answer, so she just walked in. His father's stressed face is what welcomed her. His paper works and his furrowed brows waved at her. Halos hindi nga yata napansin ng kaniyang ama ang kaniyang presensya.

"D-dad. . . hello. . ." She trailed off. Who wouldn't? This kind of aura is the kind of aura which will make you run away. Ito 'yung tipong hindi mo gugustuhing lumapit kung ayaw mong mapahamak.

His father raised his head and she took a step back, "What is it?" The coldness hints his anger and his disinterest. Hindi ka pa nakakapagsalita ay wala na siyang ganang pakinggan iyon. He raised a brow as if waiting for an answer, but all Kyulkyung can do is to swallow, "I said what is it?! If you have nothing important to say then get the fuck out of my office!"

His father gestured 'shoo' but she didn't move an inch. Pakiramdam niya ay may mga kamay na nakahawak sa mga paa niya na hindi siya pinapaalis. Even though his father's eyes are shooing her, hindi niya lubos maisip kung bakit hindi siya makaalis-alis sa harapan niya. Is it because of her love for his father? Naguumapaw na ba ang kaniyang pagmamahal sa natitira niyang pamilya?

"Ayaw mong umalis?" Kyulkyung noticed the hint of threat in his father's voice but she didn't shake. Instead, she started to cry. A lot of questions are popping suddenly inside his mind. Why is my father like this to me? Bakit niya ako sinasaktan? Doesn't he love me?

The man in front of her walked towards her and pulled her arm. Hindi lang ito simpleng paghila dahil may kasama itong diin at higpit. Including the fact, that it hurts because he is his father.

Sinampal nito ng napakalakas si Kyulkyung. She couldn't do a thing but trail her hands on her red and swollen cheeks. Habang nakatingin sa sahig ay dito nagsimulang magpigil ng mga hagulhol ang bata. She knows that if she cried more, it will just make her father angrier.

"You. . . leave my office! Ikaw ang may dahilan kung bakit hindi ko matapos-tapos ang dapat kong gawin! Nakikita mo ba 'to?" He pointed at the messy papers on his table. Pinakita din niya ang laptop niya na may mga statistics at kung anu-ano pa, "Ito ang mga trabaho na dapat na ginagawa ko ngayon. Kaso dahil nandito ka, nasasayang ang oras ko!"

"D-dad. . ." Dahil sa hindi na rin mapigil ng bata ang kaniyang mga iyak ay tuluyan na itong bumigay at humagulhol. Nanginginig pa ito at halos hindi na makahinga sa tindi ng bigat sa damdamin, "I-i just want to-"

"I said leave! Can't you just fucking understand that!?" Bumalik ang kaniyang ama sa pagkakaupo at sa harapan ng mga dapat niyang gawin. Dito niya itinuon ang kaniyang atensyon, at hindi na muling binalingan ng tingin si Kyulkyung.
