It was night again as I walked through the Hub, max even introduced me to his father as his girlfriend. Robert was mildly scared and partly amused. Then I felt a ping in my head, I felt off balance.

"Max go get Alec and Isabelle." I told him and he did.

Clary was trying to get me in her mind, I saw Magnus. "Okay so I guess you can hear me Red but if not we're in trouble, I need you and your virgin magic and Alec who's your teather to get down here now." I shook myself from Clarys head before looking at Alec. Virgin magic? I wasn't a virgin..

"It's Magnus he needs us." I told him dragging him out the door behind me. I left out the part about virgin magic and all that good stuff, didn't want to spook him.

When we got there Magnus was running low on power. "Magnus, I'm here." I told him and he sat me down clasping me hand.

"I need your power, and I need his strength." He panted and Alec took my hand so that I was in the center.

"I have a boyfriend you know." I smiled briefly before I felt my energy dwindling, max would be jealous of me holding his brothers hand.

It was as if he powered me and myself powered Magnus. Clary ran in and poured the cure into his mouth and Magnus let go of me. I was weak and tired and I slumped into the unfazed Alec's chest.

Then I remembered my audition. Scrambling up I checked the time.

"Your audition, Piper, how'd it go?" Clary remembered smiling brightly.

"It's in an hour, I'm going to miss it." I held my head in my hands.

"Audition audition for what?" Jace asked, standing beside Alec.

"The national ballet academy, it's her life goal." Clary yanked me up.

Jace pulled her aside, "Piper...I need to know something before you go, it's about Alec."

"Sorry to Break in But we don't have all day." Clary pulled her sister into the main room.

"Allow me to help, after all you've done for me." Magnus raised his hands. "On the other side of that portal is a very confused Isabelle lightwood. All you need to do is take Clary though it and you be prepared."

"Go." Nodded Jace.

The two girls went through the portal and sure enough they were in the prep room.

"What the hell am I doing here?" Isabelle asked before Clary shushed her.

"There's no time for that, you need to cover all her runes with this and make her clean up her face and make her look beautiful while I go get her stuff." Clary handed the lightwood a bag of makeup and the girl began wiping off the black off Pipers face.

"You look depressed, I assume you've heard then." Isabelle sighed and piper frowned as the girl pained over her runes.

"Heard what?" Piper asked, before touching her necklace and feeling her ankle heal as well as her energy replenished, the necklace had done its job.

Isabelle was already doing black eyeliner after the mascara. "Alec's being forced to marry someone to rebuild the family name. Arranged by my parents." Piper felt her world come to a screeching halt.

"What." Isabelle stopped where she was. "What do you mean he's getting married." Piper asked her her voice trembled.

Isabelle looked utterly horrified. "You didn't know? I though he told you!" Piper got from her seat before looking at the black stuff in Clarys hand.

"I change my mind, I can't do this, Not now." Piper felt weak at that moment, holding onto the walls for support.

Clary turned to Isabelle. "What did you say? Oh Isabelle she already get nervous for this day." Clary stood her sister up.

Piper felt her heart shattering. This always happened when she felt the L word. The reason she was so against it, why she Absolutely was terrified of one word.

She felt tears in her eyes, piper never, ever cried unless things were bad. She held them down inside her. "A-Alec's getting an arranged...mar..age." The words made her want to crumble.

"Listen to me, Piper Fray you aren't going to let some boy break your day. You have trained every single day for this. You gave up so much of your life to dancing. I've never seen someone spend every day of Christmas break in the studio or seen you so hell bent on dancing with your whole being." Clary walked to the locker and pulled a white dress that was connected to a leotard out. "Tonight your doing a song you vowed never to do unless it was truly the time."

"The red shoes." Muttered the red head who numbly went blank in he mind.

She stripped down, her once perfectly clear fair skin once again so by he power of thick makeup to the arms. Clary practically forced her into the white tights before pulling on the white dress with leotard under the skirt. It was the dress from the ballet and I fit without Piper wearing a bra.

She couldn't think, she didn't want to. Her fingers betrayed her as she tied the red shoes before her twin and best friend left her in the room to herself. In the mirror she saw her reflection.

The girl in the mirror was cold and emotionless, she stood tall and graceful like a true prima. "Look at the mess which you have become, I warned you what would happen if you Lo-" the image blurred and she walked backstage. Out in the audience was a panel of judges, behind them would be all the girls and guys who had tried it and made it and behind them would be onlookers and scouts.

She heard the lights being changed and she cracked her knuckles flexing her feet and legs. The music started and she closed her eyes and felt herself going into the stage.

She dances the steps, and after the first spin she let the flood gates of emotion pour out.

She had loved her mother her whole life, the woman who protected her and raised her and in the end it was her fault. Her sister who would play pranks on Simon with her and always need to be soothed after a nightmare was now an iron rod. Her new best friend, her parabatai, she was afraid to love her. Scared that she might break the girl. No but she had done this to herself.

Alexander Lightwood has claimed she had lit his world on fire but he held the match. He came into her life with eyes of blue crystals and demanded her heart.

She had vowed never to use the l word with tongue or mind. Oh how her soul had betrayed her. She had ultimately done this to herself, only piper was the cause of pipers pain. He was getting married to another woman soon. He wasn't hers to touch, wasn't her to look at, he wasnt hers.

She could feel the slow cracking of her glass heart and could hear it shatter in her ears. When the song ended she preformed to fall to the ground like Victoria had done but this was real.

Her body gave out as she sobbed on the stage, tears poured from her eyes as her body shook with sobs.

Piper cared for Alexander Lightwood, Love.
No...Piper loved him.
