(also my account won't let me adjust the position of the text so now I guess this entire one-shot will be in this way...I am so sorry.)

"Knock knock."

"Come in."

"That's not how it works, Rush!" Kendall whined. Rush snickered and let open the door. There stood the rusty terra cotta-fluffed up haired girl in her puffy red winter jacket and minty green scarf. She looked like a giant marshmallow. Rush snorted.

"Any reason you wanted to make hot cocoa today?" Rush asked. Kendall brushed past into Rush's little home, slipping off her toque, jacket, and scarf, along with identically minty green earmuffs. She pleffed and shook herself off like a dog.

"Because! It's always good to make hot cocoa when you don't expect it."

"Uh-"

"Knock knock."

"Fine. Who's there?"

Kendall beamed and suddenly spun around, and her scarf whipped around and landed in the poor girl's pale face.

"Meeeeeee!" Kendall exclaimed, stopping her spinning.

Rush smiled, rolled her eyes, and shut the door behind the two of them. She hung up Kendall's stuff, because by that time Kendall had already brushed past and went to the kitchen.

"So..how do you make hot chocolate at 2 in the morning?" Rush asked, quickly looking outside her window at the foggy periwinkle-blue-grey of the sky that has previously been a darker blue-grey. She knew it was just an illusion: because the of trees, she couldn't too well see the outside, although she knew it must've been black outside.

She had woken up after dreaming of something - she couldn't quite remember what-and had immediately seen Kendall downstairs at the bottom of the steps.

Rush had screamed and tumbled out of bed, her cotton navy blue-violet pjs a complete utter mess of wrinkles. She had brushed away her messy Hermione-Granger-like dark brown hair and sat up awkwardly.

Her sleeping-bag like red and green blankets were still neat, surprisingly, and she almost had to remember where she was in her tiny oak little home before seeing Kendall and freaking out all over again.

She had stood up and brushed herself off, her face painted and splashed with embarrassed and coral, which she briskly coughed away.

Kendall had apologized while laughing, and went outside. (So that, in her own words, 'You can let me in legally this time.')

Now, the two stood in the kitchen, yellow-orange lights on, probably being called insane by their neighbors, with Kendall googling how to make hot cocoa, and Rush cleaning up broken glass from her window, which had been mysteriously open/broken into.
