Y/N was trying to balance the giant box she was holding in one hand while she tried to grab the keys from her back pocket. She knows she could have easily just put the box down but she couldn't be bothered to bend down and pick up the heavy box again. The struggle. Was. Real. Managing to balance the box on one hand was not an easy task.
"Do you need some help?"
Y/N turned her head to see a boy her age. He was standing by the front of his door. The girl weighed her options (she also noted that said boy was incredibly cute) before giving in.
"Uh, yeah, if you could just hold this for a minute while I get my keys, that would be great." She gave a shy smile. Peter Parker's heart raced. Y/N's smile, though, small was absolutely stunning. He froze for a moment before moving towards her. "Be careful. It's kind of heavy, don't want you getting hurt so just a little warning."
Her concern for a complete stranger fed Peter's growing attraction.
"It's alright. I got it." Peter gave her a smile. Y/N fished the keys from her pocket and opened the door.
"You can just put it down here." Y/N gestured. Peter put the box down and stood just outside her door. "Thank you. You definitely saved me from embarrassing myself if this box fell over me."
"You're welcome." The two teenagers looked at each other for a second.
"I'm Y/N L/N by the way." She put her hand out for him to shake. Peter reached out and held her hand. The two felt a strange feeling when their hands touched but refused to let it show on their faces.
"Peter Parker." They let their hands drop much to both their dismay. "S-so, did you just move in?"
"Yeah, my parents got a job that required us to move here." Y/N explained. Peter nodded in understanding.
"Well, it's nice to meet you neighbor." Peter smiled at her. "Welcome to Queens."
"Thank you, neighbor. You might have to tour me around this place one time. I wouldn't want to get lost here. New city and all." Y/N wished that Peter would get the hint that she wanted to see him again.
"O-oh y-yeah, sure! I-i can give you a tour sometime." Peter slapped himself mentally for stuttering so much. But then again, it wasn't everyday that a pretty girl was asking him to hang out with her.
"Great," Y/N smiled. "So I gotta start unboxing these. I promised my mom I'd get at least 2 boxes today. I'll see you around, Peter."
"See you, Y/N." Y/N pulled the door shut and leaned against. She bit her lip trying to contain her smile. What she didn't know was that Peter was doing the same thing. Peter Parker excitedly entered his apartment.
"AUNT MAY!" He yelled out, scaring the life out of his aunt. She let out a small scream.
"Peter! God, you scared me!" The older woman placed a hand on her heart. Peter threw his bag on the ground and plopped himself down on the couch beside his aunt.
"Aunt May, I just met the most amazing girl next door!" Peter gushed. His aunt looked at him lovingly, thinking about how her little boy was all grown up.
Peter and May Parker were quietly eating breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning. Ever since the loss of Uncle Ben, the aunt and nephew pair had been spending as much time as possible together. Which was hard for Peter with his, uh, extra-curricular activities. The pair's conversation about the new episode of the show they were currently binge-watching was cut short by a knock on the door.
"I'll get it." Peter stood up and moved towards the door. He swung it open to see the bright, cheery face of Y/N L/N. How she managed to look this awake so early in the morning, confused him. His heart was beating so hard and he was pretty sure his body was convulsing with the beat and that Y/N could see it.
"Good morning, Peter!" The girl greeted. Y/N took in Peter's (adorable) just-rolled-out-of-bed look. Complete with messy hair and a slightly crumpled shirt that looked like he didn't even bother to change out of his pajamas.
"G-good morning, Y/N! So, what are you doing here?" He leaned against the door frame in an attempt to look cool in front of a cute girl. Y/N cracked a little smile.
"Well, since we did just move in, we didn't really have time to do some groceries and I was wondering if I could get a bit of sugar for my morning coffee?" She held up her mug.
"Peter? Who's at the door?" May's voice called out to her nephew. She peeked her head from the wall. "Oh, hello. I'm May, Peter's aunt." She walked towards the younger girl and held her hand out for a shake which Y/N accepted.
"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Parker. I'm Y/N."
"Oh, Y/N." May's eyes went wide and she turned to Peter, who was begging her, with his eyes, not to say a word. Which, of course, May ignored. "Peter's told me about you."
"He has?" Y/N turned to Peter. He had a red tint on his cheeks and started to stutter excuses awkwardly.
"Oh, yes. He told me that you just moved in next door."
"Mhmm, he helped me carry a box into the apartment a few days ago." Y/N thought back to the short moments of interaction she had with Peter Parker. Moments she couldn't seem to get off her mind for some reason.
"Wow, that's very gentleman like of you, honey. I raised you well." May reached out and pinched Peter's cheek.
"May!" He complained to which you laughed at. Peter was in awe with your laugh. He thought it was the most beautiful sound ever. May noticed the looks the young teenagers were giving when the other wasn't looking.
"So, what brings you over, sweetheart?"
"I was wondering if I could get some sugar for my coffee. If it's not too much of a bother."
A light bulb went off in May's head. She smirked.
"Oh, you can take this one. He's as sweet as can be." With that she pushed Peter out of the door and closed it, locking it so Peter wouldn't think of coming back in. Peter's protests could be heard through the thin wood but that just made the older woman chuckle.
"Uh, I didn't plan this." Peter tried to explain. Y/N giggled.
"It's fine, Peter. Although, I am sad that I won't be able to have my coffee today." She pouted. Peter glanced down at her lips.
"I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you."
"How about you take me on that tour now. I mean you're locked out of your apartment and my parents are still fast asleep. Might as well right?" She said, hoping that she could spend some time with him. Peter saw her staring at him expectantly and caved in.
"Okay, let's go."
May Parker looked outside the window and saw Peter and Y/N walking closely together, conversing as if they were old friends despite only meeting a few days ago. She could see the affection brewing between them. She turned around and looked at the pictures she had hung on her wall. The pictures of a younger Peter filled the wall. Her eyes landed on a picture of her and Ben from a few years ago. She smiled sadly.
"Oh, Ben. I wish you could see Peter now."
