ELEANOR ARCHORD had a lot to prove to her family. She had to prove she could maintain those high grades that nobody thought possible from a Slytherin. She had to prove that her loyalties would remain the same and views would remain open and fair. Most of all she had to prove that being a Slytherin would not make her evil.

REGULUS BLACK had a lot to prove to his family. He had to prove that he knew where his head was at in the Wizarding World (the same place as his parents). He had to prove that he would allow nothing to get in his or his Lord's way. Most of all he had to prove he would not follow in the path of his older brother's mistakes.

So when you put two overachieving, rather insufferable when in 'The Zone', ambitious people into one House? Well, you must know they'll EXPLODE eventually – and the truth will out.
