ACT ONE; CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE TINA AND ROBERT
--
THE BEDROOM OF Eleanor Archord was as taboo as any other slight mention of her in her own house. Most of the time the fact the tiniest thought of her dragged her parents into a frenzy of anger, upset and confusion, however, she liked that her room was left untouched because of it. While she was at Hogwarts, the locked door allowed dust to settle in preparation for Eleanor's whirlwind of new spells and ideas she'd had for it.
In the December of 1977 she had a grey theme. Only when she had been thrown out of Hogwarts for a few weeks was when personal effects decorated the canvas though; that didn't mean Eleanor disliked preparing the canvas, even if she didn't want to put pictures up only to pull them back down so soon. On the second day of hiding in her room from the hateful looks, Eleanor had found the want in her to place the pictures and other items on her freshly reshuffled rooms surfaces and walls.
A lot of the time she spent at her house was simultaneously spent looking at the things that reminded her of Hogwarts, dreaming about returning to Hogwarts and preparing to go to Hogwarts by packing and doing homework far earlier than any teenage would've. Which was why it wasn't rare for her fingers to be tracing the pictures of her and her friends of the wall when her ears pricked up at the sound of the door opening with an excited voice gracing the silent house.
"Tina and Robert, it's great to see you!" A familiar voice – she picked up on the fact that, as Hogwarts grew to be the main place for the kids, was becoming less like his sons – and Eleanor beamed at the thought of the Lupin's visiting. Despite Remus dislike of her parents for how they treated her, he never missed a possible visit to the Archord house for Eleanor's sake.
Knowing Remus selflessly put himself through a dinner with her family for her was what made Eleanor's feet work faster than they had since she was benched from Quidditch to greet him. On the last few steps of the stairs she sprinted down Eleanor discarded them with a leap and ignored the disgruntled look from her parents. Noticing it himself, Remus pulled his younger friend into a hug which she released a long withheld breath.
"How are you?" He asked, pulling away so he could meet her eyes but still hold her as any protective brother would've.
Feeling the piercing looks of her parents and Blair, who'd overheard the question, Eleanor smiled and nodded. "I'm fine."
It was only a half lie. Truth be told, having a family who didn't shun her and feel so ashamed of her presence that you could hear a pin drop in any corner of the cubic building would've made her a lot more fine. On the other hand, she was just happy that her fellow Archord's hadn't been intent on making digs, daggers and everything else in between.
