A/N: As a fellow bisexual, I understood Manuel's struggle in this chapter, but since I've been updating my chapters and gay marriage is legal...everything and anything is possible

On the ride to Washington D.C for the high scholars transaction, Seattle's top four schools were allowed to send ten students ranging from juniors, seniors, and college students. Mostly, if there were less high grade students then college students took the remaining spaces, but knowingly as I call myself average. I was picked, having no idea. Maybe we were low on college students or I was unexpectedly smart. (doubting both) It felt more nerve racking being on a bus with forty other mathletes, science geeks, grammar geniuses, and history wizards.Fortunately, out of all the know-it-alls I sat by Devon, who was twenty as a college attendee of his first year. I have befriended him two days ago when the start of the bus ride. Clearly making him laugh about a pixelated cubed game called 'Minecraft' Never played, but he assured he would add it into my interests. He was also hitting a goal of after college he plans to be in the Air Force working on aircrafts. All along the journey he has given me advice from relationship advice and his plans of his future.
His hair was dirty blonde, his facial features were calm and collected, and he had a bizarre sense of humor. Everyone was easily attracted to him, maybe because he was so nice or the casual good-looks.
Devon noticed my silence and mood as I stared out the window, "You okay, John.?"
"Dandy." I gave a simple simper as I shifted away from his concerned eyes.
"LIAR!" Devon yelled as he rumbled with laughter. His hand clasped my shoulder, "You have go to cheer up man. We are out of Seattle, dull and always shit tons of rain. Basically we are free.
Then Manuel or as refered to be Manny hollered from behind our seats, "If we were actually free then why do I still have to hide my gay sexuality!"
"Damn it, Manny!" Devon snorted.
I enjoyed having my friends around, but I still did not the whole transactioning of schools. As the Devon, Duncan, and Manny joked. I was eerily silent and amazing still as the bus stretched in miles across America.
➣➣A WEEK LATER➣➣
We made the agonizingly long journey to Seattle and Washington D.C, then we were setting up in dorms that the schools provided unless you are a college student, which meant you are on your own as of rent at least. Reluctantly, Devon, Duncan, Manuel, and I have decided to all bunk together, yet in a nice dorm with a flourished kitchen and bathroom, yet only two rooms. Devon and I shared a room, while Duncan and Manny had the other, gratefully the rooms are spacious.
After unpacking my stuff, it was official I moved away from Seattle and into D.C. I celebrated by laying on my bed where my bedspread and duvet and even the pillows were themed. Abruptly ruining my pin drop of water droplets that pinpointed the room's window, Duncan barged in,"Yo, you gonna hang out around the new place, like come on school is tomorrow. Manny and Kaleb are coming with."
Still glossy-eyed at the ceiling, I said a simple, "no."
"Okie dokie. BYE QUEERS." Duncan exasperated as my door inconveniently did not shut fast enough to block out his farewell.
➣➣Hours later➣➣
Duncan and Manny came home great-fully not even the slightest of drunkenness wreaked from their actions, Manny was slurping some Starbucks drink while Duncan devoured a philly cheesesteak. Devon was still perched on his computer, playing Minecraft and talking to a girl that he's been sorta dating of four years.
"Did you get me any?" I inquired Duncan as he munched on his subway.
"Nope" Duncan sheepishly grinned and then he ran into his room leaving bread crumbs.
"I am gonna hit the sack, night." I announced as I headed to my bed leaving a chorus of 'goodnights'
That night was riddled with some sort of excitement, sickness of an empty stomach, and felt petrified of going to a new school.

A/N: it's very hard for me to describe guys like their hairstyles are hard to word. Like I can't make all the guys have quiffs or a bowl cut or side swept hair.
