A/N: Devon's personality is probably my favorite. He's just so care-free, but he's in charge. So he knows the responsibility he has. He makes very thing fun. Everyone needs a Devon in their life.
Enjoy !

As I began to took off my shoes, Devon laid on the couch with his converse already laid by the door. "Hey, I'm gonna change into something more comfortable, okay?" I announced to Devon, and he just mumbled while he began to search for something to watch.
Searching through my closet, I found a nice, black lengthed capris with a gray Disney branded Lady and the Tramp shirt. Heading back to the living room, Devon still sat motionless as he watched a documentary about what seemed to be the biomes of our world.
"Did you know that winter lasts about ten months in the taiga biome?" Devon inquired matter-of-factly to me as I ran-sacked my fridge and pantry. Picking out two cherry colas and sour cream Pringles.
"Not really, you seem to be pretty interested on nature." I pondered to Devon.
"Sort of, I just like the way the world works and I try to appreciate everything." Devon made clear to my question.
I was confused so I catechized again while opening the Pringles tube and offering the chips to Devon, "And is that why you spend your time on minecraft?"
He pinched a couple out of the tube and answered, "Well, you see I was arrogant pf life and as I am still twenty, I've gained a new perspective of life during the Air Force.
"Air Force?" I interrogated Devon, this became interesting learning more about Devon and his current past.
"I joined when I was sixteen before I met my girlfriend of four years and during that I messed up my shoulder badly. Not much of a hero, I think to myself since that day when I received a shoulder replacement from a boy that had recently died. I was not allowed to know who the family actually was, but I had the choice to say my regards in a letter." Devon began to become teary eyed and then in realization, "I have another surgery in after New Years."
"I will be there after the surgery with the same foods we had today yet anything else you'd like you little survivor." I joked as I imbibed my cherry cola can.
Chuckling as he began to chug down his soda as well, "Just having company with food is great enough."
That night we observed more documentaries of the world's amazing creatures and lands while also viewing some horror movies. I had a new perspective over Devon, he certainly wasn't the pompous nerd that rallied over me being unable to provide myself. He was deemed to be full of hope and tender at life, Devon opted for the best way to live and even a shot as his shoulder could not stop him.

A/N: Devon's surgery date has changed to go along with the timeline. I won't go to far and write in the process of what's gonna happen because I feel that's too in depth. Though I will write when he gets his IV and when he's being rolled into the surgery room. That will be mirrored to my experience when I had surgery for my cyst that turned out to be a tumor. ( it was non-cancerous thank the lord)
