Chapter 5:
*UNEDITED*

"There's something about you and I'm finding it impossible to stay away."
Christian Grey.

Martina's pov

"Okay so let me get this straight. You want me to fake date you since you decided to go out with some boy that is much lower rank than you. And now you want me to help you get at the top again?" Jorge said confused, having one of his eyebrows raised as I nodded while leaning against the couch as I took a sip of the water bottle in my hands.

"All you have to do is to say no. Then I can tell my friends that I at least tried talking you into it and-" I was about to continue but Jorge cut me off.

"I'll do it." He said as I choked on the water I was drinking and coughed for some seconds before giving him a 'what did you just say' look.

"What? Why?" I was having a mini-attack. I was basically telling him to fake date me which wasn't fair since he wouldn't be able to date someone else he liked.

"I mean I'm helping a friend out so why not?" He shot me a smile as I sighed.

"You would really help me if you didn't help me out in this moment." I blurted out and noticed how his smile dropped at my words.

Wait now he thinks that I'm saying that because I don't want to date him?

Oh god.

"It came out wrong. I didn't mean it like that. I just don't want to force you into fake dating someone you don't even like. And also it's pretty selfish of my friends even suggesting it. I mean just because everyone else in school does so doesn't mean we should."

"No, I really meant it Martina. Yesterday, you were the there for me when my dad, you know, came home and all. You even made Mia feel a little bit safe so the least thing I could do for you is this." He said as I sighed not even considering accepting this. "Please." He said as I thought for a while before I gave in.

"Fine." With that, he shot me a grin as I couldn't help but smile a little in response.

"So . . what do we do? Like when we fake date?" He asked me casually as if it wasn't an uncomfortable topic at all.

"We walk each other to class and all that other stuff." I said as he nodded, taking in the words I said. "If you're awkward with us acting like that with each other, then just tell me and we don't have to do any of this." I reassured him as he shook his head.

"Well I think it's going to be pretty fun." He shot me another one of his heart-melting smiles as I looked somewhere else feeling how my face was warming up a bit.

"And I get to be with you much more often without you pushing me away all the time." He winked as I threw a pillow at him which he dodged.

"Stop it - with whatever you're doing Jorge. It's annoying." I said as he chuckled and shoot closer to me on the couch. Surprisingly, we still had a pretty good distance between us even though he did so.

"Annoying how?" He asked, a smile playing on his lips as I looked away once again, hating how his words affected me.

"Annoying like - you're giving the wrong signals. I don't know!" I said out of frustration not knowing what had happened to me. I would usually keep my cool and didn't sound like any of this.

"Yup, this is definitely going to be fun." Jorge smiled once again before he got up from the couch and walked towards the kitchen. He then stopped in his tracks and turned around to face me again.

"By the way, you're cute when you're frustrated." He said as I couldn't help myself but throw another pillow at him but this time he caught it.

"Better luck next time beautiful." And with that he went away.

I felt my heart beating fast out of my chest. This time It wasn't Jorge's smiles but the words he said. It reminded me so much of him.

I was in my room, having my laptop in front of me while watching the latest episode of Riverdale when I heard someone knock on the door. "Come in!" I shouted my eyes still fixed on the screen.

"Want to go out and grab some food?" Jorge said as could hear the noises he made when he took the chair from my table and put it next to my bed.

"No." I said hoping that he'd just let it go and walk out through the door he came in from.

"Still on that diet?" He asked me, his voice showing a hint of worry.

"Yeah. I'm getting quite used to it." I blurted out as I felt Jorge's gaze on me the whole time.

"But you don't have to. Look, beauty doesn't always have to mean pain."

"It's not like I have a choice. I have a reputation to keep, remember?"

"A reputation you don't even care about. You didn't even want to date me but your friends practically forced you into it. You go around doing things most popular people wouldn't dare to. You always question the popularity and yet you're here talking about reputation?" I gulped at his words and felt my palms sweating.

"Why are you doing this to yourself?" His voice was soft and sincere.

"Fine, I'll go, eat junk food, whatever. But no more questions? Got it?" I said not wanting him to see through me more than he already did. He paused for a while before he gave in and nodded.

"Yeah promise." He said shooting me a grin as I got up from bed and shut down my laptop. I was about to go to my walk in closet but Jorge stopped me by blocking the way.

"You look good already. Let's just go." He said taking my hand as I stiffened a bit before relaxing again. I couldn't help but wonder why he would do that out of the blue.

Then I remembered the fake-dating thing and it all made sense. He was probably doing that so that I wouldn't feel uncomfortable when he would do that tomorrow at school. Yeah that's probably it.

"This tastes much better than I remembered it!" I said eating my fries and taking a bite of my hamburger. Jorge chuckled at that and took a sip of his drink.

"Remembered? It has been that long since you ate junk food?" He questioned me with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, I mean it has been like . . . one year I think." I said as Jorge coughed on his drink as I couldn't help but chuckle.

"That must have been hard. I can't go a day without eating junk food. It's like air, without it I'm nothing." He joked as I rolled my eyes at his silliness.

"Yeah but I'm glad that I tried it out now again. I mean better late than never." He smiled at my reply.

"So tomorrow, fake dating huh?" He said as I nodded slightly.

"Yeah." I said and took a sip of my drink.

I mean what could go wrong?
