Cesar's vision swam. He stared into Sandra's eyes; her brilliant hazel-green eyes. They matched perfectly with the girl in the picture. The answers Cesar asked himself for years were slowly being resolved.

"I'm her? Who's her?" Sandra asked, bewildered.

"Her, the girl in my picture?"

"Picture?" she asked, eyebrows raised. He opened his wallet and gently pulled out the picture of the young girl that looked exactly like a younger version of Sandra. She sat beside Cesar on the floor and stared at the photograph.

     "How did you get this?"

     "Had it my whole life."

     "It's me."

"It's you," Cesar agreed. Sandra and Cesar forgot that the guard and cashier were still there. Cesar got to his feet and helped Sandra up.

"Everything alright Sir?" the guard asked.

"Yes, thank you," Cesar answered absently. They both turned back to the cashier and paid for Sandra's clothes. They grabbed the bags and walked out of the store. Together, they rushed towards Cesar's car and once inside, they sat there, silently, for who knows how long.

Cesar couldn't find the right words. He was afraid to screw up, just like my life, he thought. He suddenly felt Sandra's hand wrap into his. He looked over at her, and saw her give a faint smile. Whatever the future had in store for them, they were going to get through it together.

.  .  .

It was a silent ride, but for once, Cesar welcomed the silence. They made their way up the stairs, and he oped the front door. They walked in and they both walked to the couch and sat down.

"Who are you?" she suddenly asked.

"I've been asking myself that same question my whole life. Meeting you, is confusing me more. No offense," he added.

"None taken. I feel exactly the same. I was shocked to see that photograph. How long have you had that?"

Cesar pulled out his wallet and took out the photo. He handed it to Sandra, who was right next to him. She tucked a strand of her dark hair behind her ear. Cesar watched intently as her bright eyes stared at the photo. She pursed her lips and shook her head.

"I have no idea," she said with a sigh. She turned over the photo and noticed something Cesar never saw. She scooted closer to him and showed him some letter on the back of the photo.

     J.P.

     "Who's J.P.?" Sandra asked.

"I never noticed that before. But like I said, I've had this photo since I was a kid. My life was around this photograph, and it still is," he concluded. He looked over at her. She suddenly gasped. Her eyes widened and she grabbed the photo from him. "What?" Cesar demanded.

"J.P., is Julianne Pierce," Sandra said completely shocked.

     "Who's Julianne Pierce?"

     "My mother."
