Chapter 6 - The Book Launch

It was the day of the book launch and Erica was not only tired but she was hanging as well. She regretted all the patron shots that she took but she had a good night. She was still going to show her fans a good time. Whilst her team set up, Erica decided to text back Cyn, she completely forgot after last night that she didn’t. She wrote a message back but then wanted to change the wording so she erased it and started again. Erica did this about three times, she actually didn’t know what to say to her so she kept it simple and basic:

‘Thanks babe and yeah I will let you know how it goes.’

It was going to be a long day and Erica needed to stay focus and keep her mind of Cyn. After the setting was arranged and her books were lined up around the table, Erica sat down and starting talking to her team, she had a feeling today was going to go smoothly. The first group of fans began to walk through the door and began screaming and shouting for Erica. Seeing her fans and how much love they had for her made her feel like the luckiest woman in the world. Her fans were everything to her and she wanted to cherish this moment with them.

Cyn

Cyn was still missing Erica badly, but she needed to keep her front. She looked at the message Erica had sent her. She thought to herself, why it took her so long to reply if she was only going to send a simple response. This was getting to Cyn, she was beginning to feel like Erica was losing interest in her and she didn’t want that. She wanted to reply to Erica so she knew she was thinking about her but there was nothing for her to respond to, especially with the message that Erica gave her to work with. What could she do though?

Erica

It was 4pm and the meet and greet was nearly done. The last group of fans were just about to approach Erica. They were acting shy and kept giggling. Erica began to laugh and looked at them.

Erica: “Come on girls, I don’t bite, y’all can handle my mouth” She said as the group of girls began to laugh in response to what Erica had said.

They ran over to her with Erica’s book and in sync with each other they screamed “We love you Erica”. Erica looked at them and smiled with joy. These girls had made her day. Erica spoke to all the girls and signed their books. She then stood up and took photos with the group of girls. Once she had finished, she looked at the girls and told them to stay in school. Within her conversation, she felt someone’s presence behind her, the person covered her eyes and she could tell by her fans reactions that it had to be HER!

Erica quickly turned around and her heart started pumping. It was Cyn. Erica was speechless, Cyn was the last person she expected to see at her launch event. She couldn’t believe she came all this way. The fans starting screaming aswell, they were shocked to see Cyn as well. They ran over to greet Cyn and asked for photos with her which she did. Whilst Cyn was taking photos, Erica looked at her she looked beautiful, she only realised now how much she adored her. Once the fans exited the shop, Erica ran over to Cyn with a huge smile on her face. She was blushing and for once she didn’t know what to say. They just stared and smiled at each other. It was like the very first time they realised they had feelings for each other. They continued to stare and the chemistry they had was beyond belief. Cyn bit her lip and gave a sexy look to Erica, she began to melt. The tension between them was clearly getting the better of them. Erica looked at Cyn as if she wanted to rip her clothes of and make love to her in the shop. All their drama and problems seemed to have disappeared. Cyn decided to break the silence.

Cyn: “We just gonna stare at each other and not talk?” She said with a smile on her face.

Erica: “I wouldn’t mind that babe, I could look at you all day and night for the rest of my life.”

Cyn: “Off course you would! You know I wanted to be here earlier, but me and my time management just didn’t want me to be here on time.” She told Erica as she began to laugh, Erica just kept staring at her, it was making Cyn feel some type of way.

Cyn: “Stop looking at me like that Erica!”

Erica: “I can’t help it, I have missed you like crazy”

Cyn: “I’ve missed you two, you know that right?”

Erica: “I know that now, to be honest the last person I expected to see here was you!”

Cyn: “I know I wanted to surprise you.. because we left things on bad terms last time I saw you.” Cyn had a more serious tone in her voice.

Erica: “I know you needed your space ba..”

Cyn stopped her in her tracks and looked deeply in her eyes. She grabbed a firm grip on Erica’s face. It was magic, the way their lips connected together, placed perfectly like a puzzle. It was right, and somehow, among all of the dizziness and the clinging to each other, something inside them changed. This new feeling they were experiencing could be dwelled upon later, because, for now, they were both content to be kissing each other like the first time.

They were stopped in their tracks by the shop keeper, who wanted to close the store. Erica and Cyn just kept looking at each other, they were oblivious to everything which was happening around them.

Shop keeper: “You two are so cute” She said smiling at them both.

Erica and Cyn both giggled. They couldn’t keep their hands of each other. Erica grabbed Cyn tightly, she didn’t want to let her go. It felt good having Cyn back in her arms. It was strange how they could not be speaking for days and then when they saw each other it was as if nothing had happened. This was the type of connection which made their relationship so strong because they generally cared about each other.

Albee came into the room and smiled at them both. It was wise for Albee to keep his mouth closed but he was unaware of the conversation that they had.

Albee: “I’m glad you two have sorted it out, I told you she wouldn’t have been mad about the drunken kiss last night”

Cyn quickly let go off Erica and gave her a look of disgust and shock. The moment of love and affection didn’t last long at all. Erica tried to grab Cyn back but she wasn’t having it, she shook her off. Erica thought to herself, why would Albee say that, what is wrong with him as she looked at Cyn in despair. Cyn grabbed her bag from the table.

Cyn: “What the absolute fuck Erica?”
