Anna

It has been confirmed.
We're not giving up.

Scott is driving me
to Rose's house
so we could go pick up

some items there.

We figured Rose would be

at least reassured

of where she is
if she at least have something familiar

with her when she wakes up.

It has been the third week

since Rose has been in the hospital.
And today her parents are at work
so Ms. Stella is watching over the house

as a volunteer.

Her next client will be assigned to her

in a few days
so she has time to be with us.

Rose's parents has rejected her

as her translator
due to the poor job of watching over Rose
in the football game.

It was also my fault
for not keeping an eye on Rose
my best friend.

I've gotten close to Rose's parents
Andrew and Vanessa.
But their relationship now...

it

sucks.

I feel Scott's hand
on mine
and I look up
from my thoughts
to face him.

His eyes are on the road

deep brown pools
giving the street

a lecturing gaze.

I smile and close my hand
on his
and he smiles.

A flutter rises in my body

like my heart
grew

a pair of beautiful wings
sparkly and colorful

and soared
just as my breath
did.

I remember seeing Scott
at the pizza parlor where I work.
He'd visit everyday

to get his pizza

but I'd always find his brown pools
catching mine
and following me.

Like a puppy.

"What did you have in mind?"
Scott asked me
and I looked away

to the window

to the bright gray sky.

"I don't know,"
I whispered more than to myself
than to my boyfriend.

There were a million things

I didn't know about.

I'd been foolish that way...
being ignorant.

As we pulled up to the driveway

of Rose's house
Scott pecks my cheek
and I smile back.

"I'm sorry for getting you involved."

Scott furrows his eyebrows

and his brown eyes darken.
He grabs my hand gently

and he pulls me

to a kiss.

I part my lips

in surprise
and it makes him deepen our kiss.

My heart flutters again
