Jason was slipping away; he was actually going to California.
Leaving. Never to return. Never to see me or Leo again. I laid my head on Leo's shoulder, and he patted my head.
Annabeth and Chiron we're with us, too, but they seemed so far away from Leo and me. We watched Jason head offo n his pegasus with, ugh, Reyna. I bet she was really happy about this.
I was laid off of my duty of head counselor of the Aphrodite cabin, the responisbilty gone to my sister Lacy, until I'm stronger and pretty much over Jason being gone. I will never be over it, but I guess I have to sooner or later.
Jason's eventually out of sight. We went to the Big House for a head councelor meeting being heald at an odd time because of Jason. It would have been that morning, but Jason was still there.
"Finally," Clarisse from Ares cabin said, "What took so long?" I looked at her like 'What's the point in saying that?'
"Shut up," Annabeth said, sitting down on the opposite side. I sat next to her.
"Let's begin," Chiron said. He started talking but I couldn't pay attention. At first I tried, but after about five minutes I started playing with a rock that was sitting in front of me. To many thoughts were swirling in my head, my head started to get heavy.
I put my head in my hands to get rid of half of my thoughts. It didn't work.
"Meeting concluded, see you at dinner," Chiron said. I looked at the clock. 3:00. It had been a half an hour since Jason left.
I got up with Annabeth and I walked out to the steps and sat down.
"Some meeting, huh?" She asked. I looked at her, shook my head, and smiled. We both knew I hadn't been listening. We started laughing at the same time.
"Piper, do you ever listen?" Annabeth asked half laughing.
"I do, just not today," I said, looking out at the fields where satyrs were chasing nymphs. My mind changed it to Jason chasing me. I sighed. It had only been about forty-five minutes since he left.
"Hey, wanna go out to teh stables?" Annabeth asked. I knew Percy was there, and she wanted to go see him, so I agreed. Maybe it would take my mind off Jason.
When we got there Percy was grooming Blackjack, his pegasus.
"Hey seaweed brain," Annabeth said.
"Hey wise girl," Percy said not turning around. When he was done brushing Blackjack's mane he turned around. "Hey Piper." I waved, not wanting to talk. He senced that, I think, and talked to Annaberth.
"Sorry I missed the meeting, I was too busy here. Blackjack was really dirty and messed up," he said. We looked over at Blackjack who was eating hay. "How was the meeting?"
Annabeth nudged me and I smiled. "Oh, good, we were just talking about how to raise sales of the strawberries."
"Oh, that's ... nice," Percy said, turning back to Blackjack. That's obviously not what we talked about. I'm pretty sure we talked about Jason. I looked at my shoes, studying the rips, counting them.
"So,what's on the sceduale tonight?" Percy asks, obviously trying to change the subject for my sanity.
"Dinner then campfire," I said, "Well, I have to get back to my cabin."
"Me, too," Annabeth said. we walked back to the cabins in silence. I said good-bye to her when I reached my cabin.
When I entered my cabin, it was a complete mess. My siblings were running around crazily, but not like normal. They ran to me and pulled me to my bed, asking so many questions.
"Leave me alone," I said. Everyone was swarming around me. I couldn't stand it.
"Well, it's time for dinner," Lacy said, "Are you ready?"
"I don't think I'm going," I said, "I'm not that hungry."
"Okay, see you later," she said.
After they left I curled up on my bed and looked at the picture of Jason and me having a picnic at the lake. I couldn't take it. Jason being gone and my cabin's smell. I went outside to sit on the step. The Athena cabin was going by.
