Reyna screamed. I had no voice left, my throat was so dry.
Jason looked at me expectantly. Right. I need to untie him.
First, I untied his mouth.
That sounded weird.
My hands were shaking so bad, I couldn't untie his hands. Reyna had passed out. I needed Percy and Annabeth to help me. We finally got him up.
He hadn't been there long. It was hard getting anything out of him, he was so shaken up.
I got out of him that someone had knocked him out and when he woke up, he was there. Five minutes before I came in.
Everyone left, taking Reyna to her room with them.
We were sitting on his bed so he hadn't noticed my leg yet.
Of course, my crutches were on the other side of the room. I got on the floor and slid over.
"Wait, what are you doing?" Jason asked, his voice a little shaky.
"Oh, um," I pointed to my crutches and then rolled up my jeans to show him my knee. I couldn't possibly tell him how.
"How?" He asked. Great.
"I'll explain later." I couldn't look at him, not until I knew what to say. "I'll be right back." I hopped out to the kitchen. Annabeth was washing some dishes. She put her rag down when she saw me come in.
I asked Annabeth, "Shold I tell him?"
"Tell him what?" She asked.
I rolled up my pant leg and pointed to my knee, "How this happened."
She was silent for a long time, probably battling options. "I think you should tell him when you think he's ready."
I nodded. Okay, I got that. Pfft, who am I kiding? I can't do this. At all.
Jason stumbled out. "Wow," he said, "Leo really got this place together."
Then he noticed the conerwhere I was injured. "Except for that," he pointed to the corner like it was poisonous. "What...happened?"
"Oh, I said. I looked at Annabeth. She nodded. "That's, just, you know.. my, uh, blood..." I started walking.
"Wait, what?" Jason followed me all the way to my room. "I'm confused."
I put my hand on his shoulder. "Honey," I said, "You're like that a lot." He looked in my eyes. I looked back at those icy blue eyes. He nodded in agreement.
We sat on my bed in silence.
"I need to know," Jason finally said, "Why is your blood out there on the floor."
"You really want to know?" I asked.
He nodded. I sighed.
I rolled up my pant leg so he could look at the wound while I told the story. "Well, a few nights ago, after Bianca showed up, I was sitting on the couch."
I had to pause.
"And?" Jason pushed.
I took a breath and opened my mouth, but no words came out.
"You came," I finally said. Jason opened his mouth, but I didn't givie him time to talk."You came with a knife and, well..." I gestured to my knee to show. "You alsohurt Annabeth and Reyna's arms, but they're fine."
"I didn't - that wasn't - how did- REYNA! We need to check on her!" He grabbed my crutches, gave them to me, and darted to Reyna's room. I laughed silently.
By the time I got out to the hall, Jason was looking confused.
He pointed at all of the rooms. "Which one?"
"The only one with a 'Camp Jupiter' flag," I said, "That one."
Well, long story short, when he opened the door, she wasn't there.
Jason and I looked at each other, and then started running - well, he ran - down the hall screaming, "ANNABETH! WE NEED YOUR HELP!"
"She came into the clearing and held out her hands, ready to imbrace us. "What? What do you need?"
Percy was in the kitchen making lemonade.
"Hey," he said really calmly.
"So what do you need?" Annabeth asked.
Jason and I searched around the living and game room. Reyna wasn't there either.
"Unless Reyna's in the section we can't go or on the roof," I started.
"She's missing," Jason finished.
