"The blood oath"

"I can only remember parts. I thought I was dead, at least that's what it sorta felt like" Beverly says fiddling with her fingers as she explained what happened

"I saw us all together, we were in the cistern. We were our parents age" Beverly continues

"W-what were we doing?" Bill curiously asks

"I just remember how we felt. We were so afraid, I don't think I can ever forget that" she sighs

"How are you feeling Lacey?" Stan asks

"Well I'm alright as I can be. I just feel horrible, the last thing I said to her was that I hated her. I can't ever forgive myself for that. I'll be alright though" Lacey shrugs sadly as Richie who was sat next to her pulls her into a side hug and gives her a quick kiss on the top of her head

Bill quickly stands, picking up and old shard of glass from the ground

"Swear it. Swear that if it isn't dead and if it ever comes back we will too" He says his voice clear and serious as he speaks

Lacey looks around before standing, slowly one by one they all stand in a circle. Bill goes around the circle cutting each of their hands before cutting his own. He drops the glass onto the floor as they all hold hands. It was a blood oath

"I gotta go" Stan says. "I hate you" He looks at the group before cracking a smile which caused everyone else to chuckle

"I'll see you later" He waves goodbye to his friends after Lacey pulled him into a tight hug

They all sat back down and began chatting mindlessly about random things and cracking jokes. Lacey felt at peace in the moment, things finally felt normal again

Slowly everyone began to leave, each hugging eachother goodbye. Beverly stood and pulled Lacey into a tight embrace. They tried fighting back the tears but it was no use, Lacey would miss her best friend greatly seeing as she was moving away

"Call me everyday, okay?" Beverly pulls away holding Lacey by her cheeks as she wipes away her tears with her thumb

"I promise I will" Lacey smiles sadly before Beverly completely pulls away giving the boys a wave goodbye as she walks away

Richie pulls Lacey into a hug trying to comfort her

"I'll see you g-guys later" Bill stands quickly and chases after Beverly

"How much you wanna bet they're gonna make out" Richie smirks

"Can it Tozier" Lacey giggles

"I can't believe we spent half our summer fighting a clown, how crazy is that" Lacey says as realization sinks in

"I think it was worth it" Richie shrugs as he turns his body to face her and she does the same

"Why do you think that" Lacey questions while quirking a brow

"Because I got to spend half my summer with you" Richie grins

Lacey blushes while looking away her heart pounded in her chest and her palms began to sweat out of nervousness in this moment she had no doubt that she had major feelings for the annoying boy who sat in front of her

"Hey lace?" Richie spoke

"Yeah?" Lacey turned to face him with pink cheeks

"You've got something right there" He points to her face

"What where?" Lacey begins to rub her face, embarrassed that she sat there the whole time with something on it

"Right there" Richie points again pulling her hands away from her face and interlocking them with his

Without thinking he pressed his lips against hers softly. His heart pounded as he waited for her to kiss back, that is if she even would. Slowly Lacey began to kiss back and even gave his hands a little squeeze

When they pulled away she rested her forehead against his. Richie was in pure awe at the fact that the girl he admired deeply kissed him back. Her lips were softer than he imagined and for her - what he'd assume - first kiss she was great at it

"I like you - alot" He blurted out while staring into her eyes

"I like you alot too trashmouth" she giggled pecking his lips once more before leaning back

"Wanna go for some icecream?" Richie offers

"That sounds perfect" she smiles

"Here sweet cheeks, put this on I want everyone to know you're my girl" Richie smirks as he pulls off his hawaiian shirt and puts it on her

Lacey smiled and interlocked their hands as they made their way to the closest ice cream parlor. She finally felt happy even after all the horrid events that took place, only her happiness along with the others would soon fade away as they grew up. Little did they know they would have to go through pain and suffering once more in their lives
