4 months after El disappeared I met this girl named Kylie. She had this huge crush on me. At first, I wasn't into her. But then, I started to like her.
I couldn't keep holding on to the thought that El was out there. So I asked Kylie out.
Of course, she said yes. Then about 3 months before El returned we broke up.
Of course, I am not telling El. I have told the boys not to mention it to her. It would break her heart.
"Hey, El." I said as we arrived at school, for her first day.
"Mike!" She said, jumping into my arms.
She pulled back and I grabbed her hand.
"Lets go." I said.
I spotted Kylie, so I pulled El to the side.
"What is it Mikey?" She said.
"Nothing, El. Just don't wanna go to class right now." I said.
Kylie walked towards us. Oh, No.
"Hey, Mikey." She said. "Who's this?"
"This is my girlfriend, El. El this is Kylie, my friend. Kylie this is El." I said.
"So, you haven't told her about me." Said Kylie.
"Told me what?" Said El.
"I am his Ex. He still loves me, doesn't he?" She asked.
"NO, he doesn't and back off, Kylie. She is way cuter than you, way smarter than you, way kinder than you, and so much more. I have in fact forgotten about you." I said.
"We both know that's a lie." Kylie said.
I hope El doesn't understand.
"Mike? You didn't think to tell me?" She asked.
"I'm sorry, El. I just I wanted to not break your heart."
"Well, not telling me hurts worse."
"Please, El I'm sorry."
"No. Stay away from me, Wheeler."

It has been a week and El and Mike still haven't talked.
El walked to Mike's house. Her eyes blood-shot. She knocked on the door.
Mike came down the stairs and looked at the door. His eyes were blood-shot too. He opened the door.
"Mike." She said when he opened the door.
"El. You look great even when you look like you haven't slept in days." Mike said.
"You too. Mike I'm sorry."
"Me too. I should have told you."
"I love you Mike."
"I love you too, El."
