I had been staring at the card for straight 10 minutes, with my heart beating wildly when the door to my room opened. Knowing it could be anyone, I quickly hid the card under my thigh.

"Lia, you went out?" He asked in a disapproving tone.

Now he will throw a fit...

Closing my eyes, I heaved out a sigh

Closing my eyes, I heaved out a sigh. "Yes, I did."

When I glanced back at Damien, I found him staring at me quietly. I lifted an eyebrow to prompt him.

"I am glad you didn't get into trouble," he said.

A blush rose on my cheeks due to embarrassment. My eyes darted everywhere around, I was like a deer caught in headlights. If only he knew about the card.

"Yeah, I had to get something."

He was observing me.

"Did you enjoy with Irene?" I asked, hoping to change the topic.

Damien walked further into the room and sat beside me on the bed. As if reminding me of its presence, the card pressed on my thigh creating an itching sensation.

"You should have come with us. You are the one who should have gone... I have lived here my childhood but you're the one who should see."

"I know that," I said looking into his eyes.

"Why did you stay here then?" He asked, his fingers slowly lacing with mine.

Remembering my irritation with him, I snatched my hand away, also turning my head away.

"Is it because of Irene?" He asked.

My eyes widened and my head whipped around towards him as I registered his question. There was no chance I was going to tell him that I was jealous of Irene. Even I was having trouble accepting the fact.

"Irene is nothing for me... And I already told you the reason." I said and rolled my eyes.

His face looked like he was not believing a word I said. "You know what? I need a translation for Italian." I said to make him believe me.
