31. The Way to a Man's Heart is Through His Stomach
The moment they stepped back, Yu Zhenzhen was surrounded by worried people nagging at her and Shangming Yunwang for going out without informing anyone.
As a prideful man, Shangming Yunwang tried to take all responsibility for their disappearance, but Yu Zhenzhen quickly explained it was her idea. She was not a damsel in distress that would allow someone to take responsibility for her terrible attempt of seduction. Especially the man she had just rejected.
Yu Zhenzhen glanced at everyone but noticed a particular person was not here.
Usually, he would be here to scold her for going out or threaten her with a kiss. Speaking of him, a blush crept up on Yu Zhenzhen's face when she remembered his well-sculptured body. Though it had been OYZZ occupying the body and she was only watching, that didn't change the fact that it was a beautiful scene with two abnormally beautiful people.
Her heart fluttered strangely, but Yu Zhenzhen decided to ignore the unfamiliar feeling. Who cares if he was not here?
She brushed off her thoughts and announced, "Let us go back tomorrow."
She wanted to go back tonight, but she realized that she hadn't done her original purpose in coming to the temple-praying. And coming to a popular temple meaning to pray but not praying was an offense Yu Zhenzhen was not going to commit against the gods or goddesses.
Out of the corner of her eye, she realized that Er Xi had been surprisingly quiet. Her friend had shown to be quite chatty, yet why was she so silent today?
Yu Zhenzhen opened her mouth to say something but held back. She remembered how OYZZ treated Er Xi whenever she was occupying her body for a bit. Maybe Er Xi was angry?
Yu Zhenzhen hoped not. She, Er Xi, had been her first friend in this world. Without her help and information, Yu Zhenzhen would've stocked out like a sore thumb.
Er Xi lifted her bowed head and noticed the princess' eyes flashing with many emotions. Confusion was written on her face and something else that Er Xi couldn't tell.
She decided to get out of the princess' sight as to not disturb her highness.
Yu Zhenzhen noticed Er Xi discreetly leaving and she sighed. Looks like the girl was truly angry at her! She would have to plan a surprise or something for her friend to appease her anger...

Yu Zhenzhen was absolutely and utterly confused. Why was the clingy duke suddenly ignoring her like she wasn't worth dirt? That was supposed to be her plan, yet why was it backfiring and being thrown back at her face!?
Her heart clenched a bit, but she decided to ignore the pain. This must've been what the OYZZ felt when Nangong Longwei treated her like absolute... insert word from your imagination.
She knew that the pain wasn't because she was in love with the duke, far from it, actually, but her strange emotions had been from the body she was occupying.
Despite not the soul not being in love with Nangong Longwei, the body could not escape from its destiny set out for it by the author. Speaking of destiny, she must quickly do something or the epilogue of the story will really happen!
They were starting to return to the royal palace until Yu Zhenzhen's head poked out of the sedan. She yelled, "Stop!"
Immediately everyone froze and all eyes, including a pair of dark, phoenix eyes, stared at the princess. She gave a cheeky grin, "Hehe bengong is feeling tired and hungry. Let us stop here to rest." And seduce.
Seduce who? Obviously not Natsu Sin and Shangming Yunwang. Maybe seduce back the male lead? But he looks so scary!
She shook her head out of her ridiculous thoughts and ideas and mumbled, "Er Xi, I want to cook."
Being caught up with all the luxuries of a princess, she had forgotten that she was originally a chef, and a talented one at that.
Er Xi's eyes widened in shock, "No way, your highness!"
Yu Zhenzhen rolled her eyes, "Please? As a matter of fact, I'll tell the servants in charge of food."

Er Xi sighed and didn't raise her head. Yu Zhenzhen heart ached when seeing her friend treat her so unfamiliarly.
Yu Zhenzhen stepped out of the sedan and stared at the cloudless sky. It was a beautiful afternoon and she had just the dish in mind!
Her inner chef fanatic was listing the ingredients they had available until she heard a voice ask, "Princess? What are you doing?"
Yu Zhenzhen turned her head to meet the eyes of an angelic Qing Xiaolin.
Wariness filled her chest when she stared at the girl she thought was innocent. Didn't OYZZ say she was from the modern world as well? Time to test out a few things.
"Xiaolin," Yu Zhenzhen paused cautiously. "Have you ever read The Overwhelming Lord's Sweet Consort?"

Cliffhanger! PS, if you were expecting the preview from chapter 29 (the one where Ouyang Dichen plays chess with Yu Zhenzhen), then don't expect it for a few chapters more.
I decided to change it and not have someone suspect our Zhen Zhen until chapter 33 or 34.
Speaking of the number of chapters, I think this book will be around fifty chapters... if not less.
Depending on when I find a suitable place to close the book ;)
