I often think, what is it like

to compare oneself to water.

Water, always clean and clear.

I want to be like that.

But water is also

easily contaminated,

easily poisoned,

water goes with the flow,

it moulds itself to the shell,

it aligns with the likes of anyone.

Water is empty of choice,

void of the capability to form itself.

So as I stand atop the peaks,

glancing back at my compelling past,

and peeking into the perplexing future,

no, maybe I don't want to be like water.
