We celebrated Christmas Eve at the hospice with you. You didn't have any presents for us, where would you get them from? But the biggest present you could have ever given me and your mum was that you were yourself again on Christmas Eve.

The only thing that still gave away that you were sick was your slurred speech that had gotten worse during the past month.

We sat in the common room and you were unwrapping your presents. Your mum had gotten you a photo album of you and her. I hadn't quite known what to get you since everything was senseless because you wouldn't need it in a couple of months anymore anyway.

At the end of the day, I had covered your favourite songs and recorded them, including Chemicals by Dean Lewis so you could listen to them whenever you were bored at the hospice.

Even though we spent it at the hospice, it was the best Christmas I ever had because I got to spend it with you.
