there is a curly-haired boy who sits in the corner of the coffee shop by the window.
he wears headphones and taps out beats on the tabletop and drinks cappuccino
after cappuccino
after cappuccino.
he doesn't look like he sleeps as much as he should, but there is a light to him despite it.
the first time she notices him, it's because he is line in front of her.
when he turns around, she sees the brilliant sapphire of his eyes
and for a moment, she is breathless.
it seems, by the parting of his lips and the way his gaze hovers over her, that for a moment, he is breathless, too.
so she watches him, now. she sneaks glimpses of him from her booth over the top of her computer and memorizes the shape of his nose and the crater of his dimples when he smiles.
she thinks she might be going crazy, but sometimes she swears she catches him staring at her, too.-c.h.
