Coleman's P.O.V
I woke up on a bed, Cody beside me. It didn't take me long to realize where we were. Ever since I had suffered in this place, things were never the same. I learned how to fight from Ethan, (who is considered the best at one time) and grew paranoid and avoided death for this reason.
I shook Cody until his eyelids fluttered open, covering his mouth before he screamed. (If he would.)
"We're in the Mirrors," I whispered softly, slowly taking my hand from Cody's mouth. "Cody, we have to get out of here, before the demons come for us. They may even drag us to the Inner Circle."
"What the hell does that mean?" Cody teared up, knowing of the torment yet to come.
"I hope you never find out," I stated, standing from the bed, Cody following my every move. "I only saw the Inner Circle, and that was enough for me. I never actually experienced it, unlike Micheal. He's endured it for hundreds of centuries. Maybe that's why he's such a nut job."
I touched each mirror we passed to see if we could pass through, but there was really no point. We can only escape if someone has Chosen One blood on the other side.
"Coleman, were you really our friend all along when you were with Satan and Ethan, or did you just say that so that we would be your friend again?"
I turned away from Cody's big prying eyes, avoiding the question as I silently moved along, proceeding on the mission to get out. Of course this place terrified me, so I betrayed my friends in order to stay the hell away from it. I may feel guilty, but there's no way I'd go back and change it. I'd do anything to get out of the Mirrors for good.
The air seem to get colder as we walked into the depth of the Mirrors. Cody was petrified, almost tripping over my heels when hearing the screams far off in the distance, people cradling themselves while crying every way you looked. As we passed a window, the booming sound of footsteps from something that was the size of a giant monstrosity scowled outside, eating demons that escaped the building we were in. It seemed somehow far darker than when I had endured the Mirrors before.
Cody almost screamed when witnessing the thirteen-foot monster prowling for a meal. I felt a sudden chill, one I'd never forget.
"Cody, they're coming for us. We have to run." I gripped his arm, running faster than I'd ever run before. But I knew what Cody didn't: there was nowhere to go. We'd just keep running until the moment we captured our escape.
But then I saw something out of the ordinary. A hole about eight feet by width was in a corner of a room, led by the darkest and longest hallway. The hole itself was so damn dark I could hardly even see it. Cody ran into me after getting lost down the hall. I stumbled to catch my balance directly in front of the hole.
I glared back at Cody when I escaped the hole's edge. He averted his eyes apologetically, but said nothing as though too remorseful.
"What is it?" He questioned as though I knew the answer. I peaked down the hall as Cody fiddled around from behind. I could hear the demons whispers closing in on us. Fearing when escaping was the scariest part of all, and we'll be stuck on that trial for eternity, unless our friends save us. "Coleman!" Cody yelped in distress. I whipped around, catching him by one hand as the rest of his body dangled from an unknown hole of eternal darkness. I would have to use all of my adrenaline to pull Cody's body weight back to level ground.
The demons whispers were so close, they had to be right outside the hallway. I had two choices. One: use my strength to save my friend from unknown torment, only to be caught and each of us get tortured. Two: I couldn't even consider.
