You walked into the kitchen of your new house, awake enough to recognise it as yours, but not enough to remember that you shared it. Shuffling and half-asleep, you started to prepare two mugs of tea. While your mind was unaware of the fact that you lived with someone, your body was used to preparing two teas.
As you stood, nodding off, in front of the kettle, his arms wrapped around your shoulders. You almost jumped at his touch but remembered, at the last minute, that the two of you were together and sharing a house.
You let him hold you in his arms for a few moments. As he did, he spoke: "Good morning, beautiful." Joking, you glanced around the kitchen, as if looking for who he was talking to. This was hard to do while being in his arms, so you decided not to do it again.
"Good morning, my liege," you eventually replied. My liege was a nickname you'd given him when you first started going out, because of his role as Arthur Pendragon in the hit BBC drama, Merlin.
"(Y/n)!" he pretended to moan. Originally he hadn't been sure about that nickname, but it had slowly grown on him and he secretly loved to hear you say it. As he spoke, the kettle finished boiling. Reluctantly, he let you go, so that you could finish making the teas. He grabbed the milk out of the fridge for you. As he handed it to you, he said: "You were up early this morning, is everything okay?"
Since you started dating Bradley James, you'd always told each other everything. You took the milk, thanking him, then added: "Yeah, I'm just not quite used to our new setup yet. I'll be back to my lying-in self in a couple of days." You finished pouring the milk and handed him the bottle back, giving him a morning kiss.
He put the milk away and grabbed his tea. He thanked you for it, then proceeded to immediately burn his mouth on it. After having swallowed his mouthful of scalding hot tea, Bradley reminded you of something. "Don't forget, honey," he said. You held your breath because you couldn't remember if you had forgotten whatever he was going to say. "I booked a table at that nice restaurant up the road tonight, for our half-anniversary." You allowed yourself to breathe again. There was no way that you were going to forget about that.
