We all looked at each other. I answered.

"Hello?"

There was sudden silence over the phone.

"Hello. Alissa?"

"Yes. Im Alissa."

"I finally found you. So how have you been?"

The voice sounded familiar. I have heard him before.

"Im sorry. Who is this?"

"Im your father Alissa."

"This cant be. Can you FaceTime?"

He turned on his camera and i turned on mine.

"Hey pumpkin."
He waved at me.

I haven't been called pumpkin in a long time. I think I was 6 when I last heard that name.

"Dad? How did you find my number?"
I smiled at Grayson.

"It took me a long time but I eventually found someone who knows you."

"Wow. That a cool."

"Hey why dont you go up to your room. Ill get dinner ready."
My mom tapped on my shoulder.

I walked upstairs to my room.

"So dad. What's new in your life?"
I laid down on my bed.

"Well I live alone in Australia. Oh I learned how to surf."

"Woah. Is it fun?"
I sat up.

"Oh my gosh. Its out if this world. Feeling the air in your hair and gliding on the water. Its like a dream."

"Wow. Your living the dream."
I ran my hand through my hair.

"You have no clue. My living is making surf boards. I test run them. A house by the lake. Is amazing."

"Wow."

A couple minutes later Grayson came into my room with a plate of food and set it in front of me.

"Hey. Your mom said I could stay but I have to get home. I'll see you tomorrow morning."

We did our handshake and Grayson came him.

"Bye Gray."
I waved as he walked out.

"Was That Grayson?"

"Yeah. Why?"
I took a bite of my dinner.

"I remember Grayson. How is he?"
There was excitement in his voice.

"He's good. Right now he is having a crush on a mystery girl."

"Why doesn't be tell you?"

"I don't force him to do anything. If he doesn't want to tell me he doesn't have to."

"That's fair."

I looked at the clock and realized that I have school tomorrow.

"Hey dad. I have to go to bed. I'll talk to you tomorrow."

I got off of the phone and walked downstairs. My mom was asleep ok the couch so I covered her up and turned off the TV.

I laid in bed watching YouTube for a few minutes than I fell asleep.
