"that was awkward." I sighed.

"those were two of the hottest girls i've ever seen." Ethan said, shock written all over his face, laughing.

i chuckled. "yeah, i guess."

"you guess?" Ethan narrowed his eyebrows at me and shook his head.

i laughed. "it's weird, dude." i admitted.

he looked at me confusingly. "what's weird?" he asked.

i drawled in a deep breath. "how one digit can change our lives."

E tilted his head as we kept walking. "whatchu mean?"

"i mean...i was trying to text Cam. all i did was put a 3 instead of a 2 and here i am crushing on a girl i barely know." i sighed.

Ethan nodded in understanding. "same."

i laughed. "did you get Paige's number?" i asked, changing the subject.

he smirked. "yup." he said popping the p and holding up his phone happily.

i shook my head and laughed.

as we walked to E's truck in silence, my phone buzzed. twice.

i picked it up and stared at it. both messages.

i stopped in my tracks as Ethan stopped beside me, confused.

"what is it?" he asked.

i showed him the phone.

"why is Emmie back?" he asked.
