Battle Scars

You wake up every morning,
To the same inner demons you fight everyday,
You wish that they would go away,
But they always stay;

You walk through crowds of people,
And have always kept moving forward,
Even when things get hard,
You sit next to a bunch of smiling faces,
Showing yours and pretending you're okay,
But you've forgotten that everyone has a bad day;

Even though you know there's something wrong,
You're always trying to stay strong,
Like a soldier,
You try to make it better,
Even when you feel like a zero,
You're really a true hero,
The red lines on your arms,
Are nothing but your battle scars;

You spend your days keeping to yourself,
Then you go home and let it all out,
Even when you're stress,
You did your best,
You spend your days going through hell,
And make sure no one can tell;

Even when you feel like crying,
You always wake up trying,
They said even the happiest,
Can be the saddest,
Yet here you are,
The best of us;

Even though you know something's wrong,
You're always trying to stay strong,
Like a soldier,
You try to make better,
Even when you feel like a zero,
You're really a true hero,
The red lines on your arms,
Are nothing but your battle scars;

You try your best not to be heard,
But one day you'll learn,
That no matter what,
You are the realest of real people,
Who fight to get away from evil,
And if you feel alone,
You will always come out as tough as a stone;

Even though you know something's wrong,
You're always trying to stay strong,
Like a soldier,
You try to make it better,
Even when you feel like a zero,
You're really a true hero,
Because the red lines on your arms,
Are nothing but your battle scars;
