Get It Right

You know it be great to see you smile,
I know we haven't seen each other in a while,
I know things things haven't been turning out the way they should be,
But that's just because it was hard for us to see,
The good things we had coming,
With the love that kept us moving;

Please don't give up on me,
I know there were things that were said,
I just want you to see,
The memories you've blocked out in your head;

I know times are getting tough,
But please believe me when I say you're good enough,
Even when our true colours are held in the light,
We'll still need to hold each other tight,
It's gonna be awhile before we can really get it right;

You know it's good to see your face,
And I'm glad to know you're okay,
Everything went down at such a fast pace,
But I believe we can put those broken pieces back in place;

I'm never gonna leave your side again,
I know you've felt more than just pain,
Let's let go of the heartbreak,
And try to take back our mistakes;

Even when times are getting tough,
Just hold my hand,
And let me tell you, "you're good enough",
Just close your eyes,
And we'll hold each other tight,
You know it's gonna be awhile before we can really get it right;

We try to go back on our broken promises,
Try to find all the small details that we miss,
Let go of all the worries,
I just hope you know I'm sorry,
And we can write out a better ending to this story;
