" I hope ill see you soon... I miss you.. even if I did forget you... I never forgot our promise... "

"Hey (Y/N) look at at me! " Dante yells, i turn and see him hanging upside down from a trees branches.

" Dante be careful! " I yell back and he giggles, " Ill be fine! I got my big brother to look after me! " I turn and see my best friend, my shoulder to cry on, my world, my everything standing behind me. " You should still be careful baby brother! " I watch as Dante pokes his tounge out and giggles as we both shake our heads.

" Geeeene! " I yell jumping on his back, " What is it (Y/N) " He asks smiling as he carries me on his back, " Its my 7th birthday tomorrow! " i exclaim happily as Genes smile fades, " Your leaving too.. " He says putting me down, i frown and hug him, " Ill miss you Genie " He chuckles at his nickname, " I want to give you your birthday present." I nod as he takes my hand leading me away from the others.

We walk through a bush to a hill, at the bottom there is a lake glistening with the suns setting colours, a large tree sits at the top. I smile as i watch Gene pull out a marker, " What you doing? " I ask as he turns with a smile, " Youll see, im going to give Mr Oakeinstein a small tattoo " I giggled and looked at what he wrote.

I blushed a small bit and smiled, Gene took my hands and left something in my hand, I opened it and saw a bracelet, " Whats this? " Genes face turned to seriousness, " You might not come back.. I don't want you to forget our friendship.. this is our special hill, and this bracelet.. " He lifted up his sleeve revealing an identical bracelet on his wrist, " One day, we can use these to find each other again. No matter what happens.. if you come back.. come to this hill everyday.. I promise (Y/N) we will find each other again one day.. " He said smiling, a few tears ran down my face as he pulled me into a hug. 

" Promise? " He lifted up my chin and I nodded, " I promise " We both smile and Gene leans his head towards mine planting a small kiss on my cheek. I blush deeply, our hands interlock as we walk back to the others .

" Dante get your butt down here so I can say goodbye! "  I yelled as the group came over to me, I started with Dante. 

" Ill miss you Lapis. " I said smiling, " Ill miss you two (D/N) "  He pulled me into hug and I giggled. 

I then turned to Garroth, " See you GarGar! " I yelled in his ear, Garroth had always been taller me so I would always yell, " Thank Irene your leaving (G/N) ! " He chuckled picking me up and hugging me. 

Then it was Laurance, both him and Garroth were like brothers to me, " My brother from another mother... ill miss you a lot " I said trying not to cry, " I'll always be here if you need me (L/N) " He hugged me and kissed my forehead before I turned to Gene.

" Ill miss you most.. you we- Are my best friend,my world, my everything, my shoulder to cry on.. I wont ever forget our friendship.. and I swear to Irene, I wont forget my promise. " I said letting some tears fall," I promise we will find each other again Sunshine.. I love you... " He whispered the last part as we hugged, eventually the others joined in on the hug too.

" Wait.. " I stood up walking to Mr Oakeinstein, I brushed my hand along to trunk until it his some crevasses, I looked at it, there seemed to have been some marker but now there was a carving.

But there was something else written beside it.

" He... he never forgot.. but.. then- " I look around and sigh, " He might've done this ages ago... but hes.. Gene... he.. he cant be.. " I fall to my knees, my hand still over the carving, " What changed... Gene.. my.. my Genie... " I finally start crying. 

The boy from my childhood, my best friend... my shoulder to cry on.. my world.. my . my... my everything.. he changed into.. I clench my fists, hating myself for judging Gene for changing when I'm not different. I place my forehead on the trunk my hand still on the carving, " Never forget.. " I whispered.

I heard some rustling behind me along with a twig snap, but I couldn't turn to see what it was, my heart was too busy being broken and re formed over again.

" (Y-Y/N? ) " That voice.. I already know its him, I cant turn to face him, what would I say? What would he think? Would he even still think of me as his friend? How could I talk to him? Does he even want to talk to me? Does he even know its me? What if he hates me for what ive become? I cry harder at each thought, " (Y/N)? " He repeats, I listen to his footsteps walking slowly towards me.

I look up and wipe my eyes. I then stand turn towards him, i know exactly what I'm going to say, and one thing I know for sure. 

The next thing I do... could change everything..
