Around them there was the most complete silence, it seemed that everything had stopped for a moment. The two looked at each other, made love with their eyes, with those damned eyes that she knew a lot about. Colin approached her, and kissed her cheek gently, then slowly stretched the back of her neck. She had tears in her eyes, both because of the great emotion and the fear of losing him now that they were so close. She took his hand that rested on her chest and put it on her cheek. She closed her eyes and murmured, "If only I could have you." A tear streaked her cheek shyly, and even Colin's hand. He whipped it off gently. "I'm here now." She looked at him with those eyes blue like the sea, from which in the meantime another tear fell. She forced herself to smile at him, but sadness reigned supreme within her heart. She felt scared of the feeling she had before, when he had laid his hand on her heart, and all for stupid paranoia. He continued to look lost in her eyes and stroked her hair. Both wanted the same thing, but they did not know it. But it was a strong thing, almost an instinct, which made them both approach at the same time. It was there that the world changed. Their lips were able to fit so harmoniously that for a moment she thought she had found her true soul mate. He was aware of what he was doing, he had lost his mind for that girl, so shy, so beautiful, so humble, that he thought it would be impossible to abandon her. They hugged tightly, lost track of time, stayed in that bathroom for almost an hour. She was a fifteen years old, she had only one bad experience of love, but with Colin she felt she have had them all, having tried all the flavors and all the smells of love. When they separated, they were so happy that they smiled so genuinely that they could make two kids envy them. They hugged each other for one last time and then left the bathroom. They could not take their eyes off each other. As soon as they sat down, they noticed that the waiters had left their fish with the bill on their table. They laughed and sat down. They ate a few mouthfuls, their looks spoke for themselves. Soon afterwards, the uncle and aunt returned, and this time there was no way to make them leave. It was quite late, they all had to go home. "Well, see you soon Mr. Firth, it was an honor," said Marco, extending his hand. "My pleasure," he replied, continuing to look at his beloved blue eyes. "Bye Colin" Chiara was upset, she did not want to lose him for anything in the world, but this time there was no escape. "Bye Chiara, I will miss you." "So, in the meantime, we move away, ok?" her aunt said, waving to Colin. The two of them were alone again, and a bitter tear fell down her cheek. "Do not cry baby, I'll do the impossible to see you again, I know it is and it will be difficult, but damn it, I'm in love with you and I have to do anything to have you again." Chiara ran into his arms sobbing "Me too Colin, I'm in love with you too, I'm scared of losing you forever and I do not want ..." "You will not lose me ... I'll be with you even if you do not see me .." and he kissed her, perhaps, for the last time. But both felt that they would see each other again, one way or another. They were not simply in love, they really loved each other, but neither dared to imagine it, it was something too complicated for them. They greeted each other and with tears in their eyes, they were forced to leave. The days passed, and Chiara's thoughts always ended up with him, with her Colin, her great love. * He will not think of me anymore, he has a wife and children, how can he think of a stupid girl like me? * This thought was always on her mind, and often ended up feeling ill for days. The school immediately started again, and the girl had lost all hope. A trip to Venice had been scheduled for November, and therefore included her birthday. She decided to leave, though disconsolate. In those days, her aunt received an email from Colin himself asking her about Chiara, what she was doing. The aunt, without saying anything to her niece, told him that she was on a trip to Venice, and that she was often sad but otherwise everything was alright. Colin understood that she was sad because of him and he felt terribly guilty. He invented an excuse for Livia and took the first flight from London to Italy. He was impatient to see her again, to see her deep and simply beautiful eyes. Chiara meanwhile went around Venice with her class and her teachers, tending to always stay behind. Colin was a fixed thought in her mind; she missed terribly to kiss him, to look at him and to hug him. Her first day in Venice managed to pass, although it seemed like an eternity had passed. After dinner, she left the hotel with her companions for a walk in the square. They all sat down laughing at a table and ordered beer at will. Chiara never drank, and she would not have done it that time, though she was terribly sad. Her friends started teasing her, pushing her, and she got up and walked to the hotel. It was dark and cold, she seemed to be in a movie, shooting from every angle and she remembered what Colin had told her: "I would see you well in the cinema ... you are very beautiful ...". * I miss you Colin, I really miss you. How can I get you back in my arms? * A tear came down and many others did the same. She was desperate. Colin meanwhile walked sadly through the streets of Venice thinking of that girl who had made him fall in love. ** What I would not do to see you again. Oh sweet Chiara ... how much I miss you ... how much I love you .. ** The two were immersed in a thousand thoughts, when without meaning to, they found themselves in the same lane. Obviously neither of them noticed who was in front, until a malfunctioning streetlamp resumed working just when they were in front of each other ...
