It was hard to fall asleep in the day, since the sun made it too hot to be comfortable. Or was it something else that was making it so hot? I think I am asleep right now, trying not to wake up; just seeing darkness, and resting my aching limbs. Everyone is in peace when they're dreaming: you leave your world behind and go into another, but sometimes that world's too scary and you have to wake up. That wasn't the case here. I was rudely woken up, but not by Julie. I only wish Julie was the one to wake me up.

Instead, a loud cracking noise echoed through my head and the noise of leaves rustling and a loud moaning noise bolted me awake. I couldn't think straight at first, but noticed I had big paws, as I got to my four feet. I must be a wolf- sometimes I shapeshift when I'm asleep. I dodged quickly out of the way as a small tree fell right where I was sleeping moments before. But what caused that tree to fall? I soon found the answer as I started to cough and cough, and noticed smoke rising above tree branches followed by orange and yellow flames grabbing and burning tree bark. I panicked, knowing I was trapped by a growing fire, the fire I had started. Then I realized Julie was gone.

I ran around, panting from the heat and called out, "Julie! Julie, where are you?!" No one answered and I started to run from the fire. The ground below me steeped downwards into a hill and dropped into a long cliff that had grey fog below. I could see sharp tips of rock sticking out below, showing me that I didn't want to fall down there- not like I wanted to in the first place. I skidded to a stop and decided to run back.

I called for Julie and went just a little bit deeper into the fire, until it almost surrounded me. The flames had to be over 10 feet tall and all wrapped their many arms around any tree or branch; anything they could touch they would burn.

"Julie!" I yelled once, trying to yell over the roaring flames. I went into a coughing fit again and my eyes watered as I lifted my wolf head too high into the smoke. And then, I heard a faint call.

"Grandpa! Grandpa!" I saw Julie run around some flames, a little limp in her steps. She ran and soon had to lean over to catch her breath. And as soon as she caught it, she ran to the cliff.

"Julie, where are you going?"
