"guys, dinners ready!"
we walked down the stairs, careful of harper practically flying. we both laughed and made our way to the dining table. i sat down next to romeo and chloe and opposite cruz. victoria handed out the plates with mixed veg, mashed potato, chicken and grilled halloumi on. i looked at the chicken and internally slapped myself. i forgot to tell them i was a vegetarian. whoops.
"looks great, mum." cruz said. as everyone started eating and making conversation, i quietly told romeo.
"romeo, i hate to be a burden and all but i'm vegetarian." he started silently laughing and sneakily took the meat off my plate and popped it into his mouth.
"no one will ever know." he winked. i smiled and started eating the veg.
