Staying

It's staying
in my heart

Every moment
of rippling silence
where eyes whispered
what our mouths couldn't

Every word
that dropped down
below in our throats
struggling to reach
the surface of
our tongues
but instead
staying in
locked up

Every heartbeat
that beat faster
each time you chose
to stare at me
and stared at me
with a longing
of the sky
when it missed the sun
and wished for it
to brighten it up

Every gentle breeze
of a smile on your face
lifted up my spirits
and cleared the hesitant
clouds of doubts
that lurked around
in my mind

Every rustle
of your laughter
nourished my soul
flourished the flowers
that were once stomped on
and the thorns that had grown
are now buried deep inside

Every murmur of your touch
sent shivers down my spine
it travels the empty roads
of my heart and as it does
you make a home right there
in the center of my throbbing heart

It's staying
the feelings
they're staying
there for eternal

Because you've made
a home here
and it's an everlastingly
beautiful feeling
