PETER HATHAWAY went to the premiere of the his new film, LOVE, SIMON. Peter was asked why he took the part of Simon in the film and this is what the actor had to say.
" What Simon had to go through in the film and in the book happened to me in real life. In high school, I was outed by someone who blackmailed me. And Simon is gay, as am I. I want to compare what Simon has at the end to me right now. I am in a relationship, a man whom I am in love with. Anyways, I want people to know that you should be in a comfortable position when they come out. I never expected to be outed. And, personally, it turned pretty great for me. "
The actor, 23, went with partner, TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET, also 23 (pictured above), who also stars in a lgbtq+ film, CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, and was nominated for an Oscar for his role.
