The Gamechanger Night

Part 1

This story starts from when Naina had already housed Sameer in her room for the night as he was ill and shivering outside in the lobby, while Munna Pandit were drunk and fast asleep.
Next morning, a group activity was planned to go to nearby tribal areas and educate the women and children about sanitization and hygiene practices and also have some cultural exchange and understand their age-old customs and traditions.

So, Shanti teacher was knocking on everyone's room as an early wake-up call. She knocked on Naina's room to assign her responsibilities of the discipline monitor. When Naina opened the door, Shanti teacher was surprised to find Sameer coming out of her bathroom.
Shanti ma'am, though a teacher soft at heart, could not allow indiscipline among students. She was also surpirised that a girl with so many values and also a disciplinarian would do something out of ordinary or break any rules. Little did she know that these days Naina was ruled by her heart that was ruled by Sameer Maheshwari.
Ma'am: Naina, yeh kya hai? Sameer tumhare kamre mein kya kar raha hai? Kya yeh raat ko bhi yahi tha? Iss tarah kisi ladke ko apne kamre mein kyun bulaya tumne? Hearing her rarely angry voice, the half-asleep students all gathered outside Naina's room to find out what the early morning ruckus was about.
Naina was nervous and scared, as not seeing him in the room she thought he had left, but she knew that she had not done anything wrong and was confident about her deed. But she had to come up with a quick story to explain the situation. These days all Naina did was cook-up stories on her feet to save Sameer and herself and hide her love-story from the prying eyes of the world. Her head was bowed and she felt a tinge of remorse as Shanti teacher was her idol. She ddin't want to lie to her but she didn't want Sameer in any trouble.
Sameer could not see Naina getting scolded for no fault of hers or anyone tarnishing her name. She was a true friend and a genuine person, who cared for him. He knew that she would stake her reputation for him. He kept gazing at her. She was a gem, a kind-hearted person, and loved him unconditionally. He could not allow her to take the brunt of being so nice to him, caring for him like no one ever did.
He instantly came forward to take the blame but Naina's words stopped him in his tracks.
Naina: Miss, woh raat ko Munna Pandit darwazaa galati se andar se bandh karke so gaye the. Sameer bahar lobby mein thand mein kaanp raha tha aur bahut khans raha tha. Use bukhar bhi tha. It didn't go unnoticed to Saamer that she had conveniently left out the drinking part to save him and his friends.
Shanti ma'am: Toh mujhe ya principal sir ko help ke liye utha sakti thi, use apne room mein kyon lekar gayi?
Naina: Ma'am maine socha, aaj subah hume bahut jaldi jaana hai. Aapka aur Sameer ka room corridor ke beech mein hai, toh agar hum jyaada knock karte toh baaki log bhi uth jaate aur sabki neend kharab hoti. Aur Sammer agar aur beemar ho jata, toh sirf aaj ka plan hi nahi, puri trip kharab ho jaati sabki. Issliye maine socha, agar wo dawaai khakar so jaayega, toh subah tak theek ho jaayega. Main toh sirf fellow classmate ki madad kar rahi thi.
Shanti ma'am seemed to be convinced since everyone knew that Naina never lied and was a pure-at-heart person. She looked at Naina, whose eyes were now downcast, looking at the floor and occasionally looking at ma'am to see if she had managed to convince her not.
Shanti ma'am: She gently reprimanded Naina. Hmm... theek hai Naina, tumne achcha kiya jo apne class ke chaatr ki madad ki...tumhara irada nek tha, par kaayde se yeh sahi nahi hai ki ek ladka ek ladki ke kamre mein iss tarah raat bhar rahe... dusre log iska galat matlab nikal sakte hai aur tumahra aur school ka naam bhi kharab ho sakta hai! Aage se dhyaan rakhna!
Then she directed everyone to get ready soon and come for breakfast as they had to leave in an hour for the journey to the village.
Sameer couldn't take his eyes off her as to how well she managed to handle the situation, avoiding all troubles. He was impressed and smiled a thank you to her, but his eyes conveyed a lot more. Naina also smiled shyly in return and her eyes promised him that she would never let him down or leave him alone even in the toughest situations.

Next part: Sameer was amazed and surprised at her unconditional love. He will now realize his feelings and will take some drastic steps.
