"I-I can't believe she's gone."

"Damn man... Well, it's your fault."

William abruptly stood up at the accusation. "What do you mean it's my fault! You're the one who told me to do this!"

"I specifically told you to be nonchalant. It's not my fault that you thought that meant being a dickhead," William's friend Pete shot back.

"It doesn't matter now. She hates my guts," William sulked. Four years of trying to impress her had completely backfired. He would probably never see her again. Hell, he wouldn't want to see himself either.

"There there," Pete started. "There are plenty of fish in the sea,"

Willam groaned and put his face in his hands. "She's the only fish I want,"

"Just apologize. If she's really as nice as you say she is then she'll find it in her heart to forgive your sorry ass," Pete suggested. He held his hands up in defense when William shot him a menacing glare.

"I don't think she'll accept anything from me. She was pretty upset. She even quit her job. I haven't seen her in a while and it's killing me. Maybe I should just give-"

"Go find her you fool! Look her up on Facebook! Everyone loves Facebook. Here. Give me your laptop," Pete said. William reluctantly handed him the laptop. Pete was known for his major butterfingers. Pete's cracked phones were enough for William to nearly faint whenever he had something expensive in his hands.

"What's her name again?"

"Amari Daniels. Are you sure this is a good id-"

Pete held up his hand to silence his friend. "Hush. I am working my magic."

William sat quietly as Pete frantically typed on the laptop and mumbled to himself.

"Uh," Pete started. "Spell her first name."

"A-M-A-R-I," William spelled it effortlessly. Their cubicles were right next to each other so he always used hear her spell it for the customers.

"That explains it. I was spelling it wrong. Anyways, here ya go," Pete said as he practically threw the laptop into William's hands. He was too mesmerized to care. Damn.

Amari was beautiful.

William continued to scroll down and look through her photos. Each and every one of them had her beautiful smile in it. He could scroll forever and ever and ever and ev-

"Whoa whoa whoa! She has a boyfriend?" Pete exclaimed knocking William out if his trance. "When were you going to tell me this.

"I didn't think it was important," William shrugged. Both of the men continued to scroll through Amari's pictures. As he went lower the more that bearded black guy appeared. William finally stopped when one of the pictures was them in a passionate kiss.

"Should I grow a beard?" William asked as he stroked his hairless chin.

"You can't. You can only grow porn staches, remember?"

"...Well, I could grow tha-"

"No."

William continued to sulk at his inability to grow a beard. The photo of Amari running her fingers through her boyfriend's beard had made his heart sink. Maybe she liked men with beards or maybe she was just deeply in love with the lucky bastard. Either way, it made William ache inside.

"Looks like she hasn't posted in a while," Pete interrupted William's thoughts. "About a few months,"

"I wouldn't want to be on Facebook either if I lost my grandma and quit my job."
