Pushing the door of the cabin of Dr. Sharim Afzal, Naushad asks his permission to get in,
"May I come in doctor."
Standing next to Naushad, Meher keeps her eyes lowered out of hesitation.
The good doctor looks up towards him and smiles,
"Arey Rizvi sahab! Please come in! Please come in!"
The gynecologist gets up to shake hands with Naushad. Smiling Naushad enters the cabin. Meher walks behind him, nervously.
Naushad shakes hand with Sharim.
"Bus hath milaoge? Galey nahi milna, itne salon ke baad mil rahe ho!",
says Sharim, smiling.
Smiling, Naushad hugs him tight.
Soon they all settle.
"Ji Naushad miyan, bataiye kya sewa kar sakte hain hum apki?",
asks Sharim, resting his hands on his desk; intertwining his fingers; bending ahead at his desk.
Clearing his throat, Naushad says,
"Ahmm... bus regular checkup ke liye aye the hum.",
and smiles.
Sharim looks towards Meher and smiles. Smiling hesitantly, Meher lowers her eyes.
Turning back to Naushad, Sharim apologizes,
"Pehle to tah-e-dil se maafi mangta hun ke aap dono ke nikaah mein shareekh nahi ho paya main."
This skips the heartbeat of both Naushad and Meher.
Meher looks towards Sharim, shocked! She finds herself not being able to look towards Naushad.
She begins to make Sharim understand,
"Nah...",
that Naushad holds her hand, hidden from Sharim.
Staring confidently towards Sharim, smiling politely Naushad says,
"It's... it's okay!"
Meher stares him in disbelief! Feeling her eyes on him, Naushad looks towards her, smiling politely. Meher lowers her eyes out of hesitation.
"Heartiest congratulations to both of you.",
smiles Dr. Sharim Afzal.
"Thank you.",
smiles Naushad.
He slowly turns to look towards Meher, smiling still and through his expression indicates her to smile.
Meher gets out of her reverie and slowly turns to look towards Dr. Sharim and smiles politely.
"So family planning?",
asks Dr. Sharim, smiling genuinely.
This skips the heartbeats of Naushad and Meher! Naushad quickly leaves Meher's hand. Hesitantly they lower their eyes. Dr. Sharim finds it funny.
"Yaar bhabhi ji ka to theek hai, tum kyun sharma rahe ho itna?",
