As I sat in the booth of the restaurant, I had felt hot tears prick the corner of my eyes.

I looked up at the ceiling, though, just with my eyes - trying to stop the tears from slipping down my cheeks.

God, please don't, I thought, you hate crying in public.

"Miss... are you ready to order?" The waitress had asked me, for the second time.

"Just hold on," I said, my eyes flicking to the doorway, "he'll be here soon." She slowly nodded, and walked away. I began tapping my food as I felt my heart palpitate.

"Damnit, d/n (dates name)," I whispered to myself, as I finally let tears fall down my face. I checked my phone for the fifth time. No texts, or calls. It was 7:36, just about an hour and fifteen minutes since he was supposed to be here. My waitress approached again.

"Miss, if you don't order soon, I'll have to ask you to leave." She said, I sadly nodded, and started to get up- knowing that d/n wouldn't be coming after all.

"Wait!" I heard a voice, I looked up, "So sorry I'm late babe! Traffic is crazy right now." He said as he sat down.

The voice belonged to a boy around my age. Curly, brown hair, brown eyes, a smile to die for. A boy I don't know, nor have ever met before.

"Please give us a minute." He said to the waitress, she nodded, and walked away.

"I'm Wyatt, go with it, yeah?" He said, with a bright smile. I couldn't help but smile and wipe away my tears. He stuck out his hand for me to shake, which I accepted.

"I'm y/n." I said.

"Y/n. Beautiful name." He grinned, "Whoever stood you up is a complete dildo, and he can suck my left nut." He said, looking and sounding completely serious. I burst out laughing, which I didn't know was possible right now.

"That's right." I chuckled.

"You ready to order?" He asked, you nodded, so he waved the waitress over, "my treat." He said with a wink.

You started to leave the restaurant, and he walked you to your car. But, before you left, he began talking.

"Hey... do you think we could go out some time?... but like a planned date." He shyly smiled. His grin seemed to be contagious, you felt it spread across your face,

"I would love to, Wyatt."

With that, he kissed your cheek gently, after scribbling his number on your hand with a marker he found on the cement on the parking lot.

As you drove home, you couldn't help but think of how you were so lucky. This was the best non-planned date ever, so you could only imagine what a planned one with that ethereal beauty would be like. The thought left your heart aching in obliteration, as you wanted this to happen so bad, it hurt.

The world doesn't deserve a man like Wyatt Oleff.
