- Princess Dreams -

My thoughts evade me
jumping from one fascination
to another imagination.

Wanting to be penned down
but the words dissolved
with the dreams.

Once I pictured a castle
but the princess was absent,
off to define her own life.

Why should she wait
for the fate to bring her
her desired wishes or mate?

No dragon, no witch
could hold her down
she was ready to armour her gown.

Scaling the mountain of her fear
she soared and roared
with her sheer persevere.

The meadow was beautiful
just as she dreamt
filled with colors and breeze.

Eager to explore
she found a man in a mask
thinking him to be her heart.

She forgot the one rule
that she was told,
all that glitters is not gold.

Behind the facade was an evil face
the greens' turned to rust
and the walls crumbled to dust.

But she still stood her ground
amidst the dark horizon
she found her inner light.

Experience, learn and move forward
was the mantra set in her heart
and she was off to a new start.

How I wish to be like her
though she's a part of me
but not fully understood, yet.

This is the fifth poem I wrote today & I still have to catch up with the current date - 6th June. 1 left. xD

I used a lot of metaphors in this poem, did you get them all? ;D
