- The Fall -

They say eyes are windows to one's soul,

You wished to drown in those torrent orbs,

Soft silk whispered through your hands,

Her beauty stole your breath everytime,

Those rosy cheeks beckoned you near.

She was a priestess so pure,
Who fell on the altar of her Goddess.

Duped & cursed, thrown away from civilization,
She wilted in a cage marked with death.

Her eyes were stone glittering with kohl,

Cracked smile and madness tilted her mind,

Hissing fangs graced her beautiful hair,

She looked at you with anger and fear,

Only to turn you into a statue of stone.

She was a worshiper, not a monster,
Stuck between the conflict of Gods and Goddesses.

Who over-powered her spirit & energy,
Thinking to teach her a lesson, not needed.

There are different interpretations of Medusa's story. This one is mine and this is true somewhat in modern world too. The girl is blamed for her fall from the grace and not the person who attacked her. She is made out to be the bad person who got what was coming for her and gets further punished for it like Medusa was turned into a monster after Poseidon was finished with her, leaving her on Athena's temple to be cursed further.

This is just a view and not any kind of attack on anyone's beliefs or culture. Peace out!
