- June with Nana -

Just the beginning of the summer vacations,

Unburdened souls are leaving for dear nana's home.

Never missing a beat, embracing us with their

Endless delight, love and so much care.

Whispering stories to us under the stars,

Imparting history from their times of war.

The next days we roam through the mango orchards,

Happy faces with juice trickling down our chins.

Neem trees shadow our hopscotch play,

After dinner it's time for ice cream tray.

Nani's lullaby gives the day its finishing touch,

And we slip into the dreamland with peace much.

ec_poetry June Camp Challenge 2 - Acrostic Poem

This poem is very personal to me. This was how my siblings, cousins and I used to spend our June summer vacations when we were very very young. :)

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the words Nana & Nani, they mean maternal grandfather & maternal grandmother respectively.
