hello once again

Hello Once Again

Hello once again stranger to my heart, how have you been?
Living your life without a single care for the world that surrounds you.
Are you truly happy like you claim to be or are you hiding behind another charade?
'Cause the last time I checked, you had tears streaming from your eyes.
Apologizing to me on how hurt you were for destroying my heart.
Do you still feel the same now compared to before?

The reason that I use to smile was because of you.
The reason that I looked forward to nighttime was because of you.
Now I've erased every memory with your name from my mind.
Though the feelings still linger around; please don't make me cry.
It's hard enough just trying to live my life without you in the picture.

Another breeze coming from the south to wrap me in its arms.
Trying to make me happy, bring emotion back into this soul.
But nothing ever really feels the same once someone took a part of me with them.
Took the heart I wore outside my chest, a token of true love.
Didn't bother to take it back, wanted you to remember my name.
Do you still feel the same now compared to before?

The reason that I cried late into the night was because of you.
The reason that I looked up at the stars was because of you.
Now I desire not to think back to the past when we were one.
I want to move forward to the future, watch the sun rise over the horizon.
But it's so hard when every memory we shared comes flooding back.
Bringing fresh tears to these eyes that used to shine during the day.

Hello once again stranger to my heart, have you come back to claim your prize?
A trophy for breaking me down to my core one last time.
A difficult task not many can accomplish so easily.
Have you come to look at me when I'm beaten down to the ground?
'Cause even though I'm sad at the moment, I can never blame you.

Since the reason I looked forward to a brand new day was because of you.
The reason that I wrote another love sonnet in your favor was because of you.
Now I'm lost in the mist of confusion, I can't find my way out.
I want to forget about you, but I want you to remain near.
Can you feel the pain you've left behind that I try to cover up?
Do you still feel the same now compared to before?
