"Take your seats, ladies and gentlemen! Take your seats!" The teacher tells us loudly. It's the first day of high school and if I'm being perfectly honest, I'm scared out of my wits. Everyone makes high school out to be this great awakening in your life where everything starts coming together. I've had some cousins that got married a month after they graduated! I mean, to me it just sounds like throwing your life away. Really, there's not many opportunities for women out there, so I suppose we don't have much of a choice... other than becoming a Sister. I don't think I'd enjoy life as a nun too much.

Homeroom eventually ends and I walk into the bustling hallways. Girls are squealing and gossiping, boys are tossing things and yelling obnoxiously. Some kids are just there. They're with their friends, talking amongst themselves, blending in by standing out.

As I'm mindlessly walking to my locker, I bump into someone. My things splatter everywhere and so do theirs. I gather my things and look at who I bumped into. He has brown greasy hair, hazel eyes and a lean body. "Sorry, I... wasn't looking where I was going." I apologize

"It's fine, I wasn't thinkin' either." He replies standing up and holding out his hand to help me up, which I take. "What's your name?" He asks me

"Y/N, Y/L/N."'I tell him

"I'm Ponyboy Curtis." His names Ponyboy... unusual, yet original

"That's a nice name." I smile

"Thanks." He replies as I stop at my locker. The first day of school wasn't too bad. It's just the Greasers and Socs arguing all the time makes it harder to pay attention. After school, I go to the local library, to return the book I got a few weeks back.

I walk through the aisles, trying to find the next book for me to read and I bump into the same boy. "Are you following me, or something?" I ask, rubbing my shoulder, where he bumped into me

"I promise I ain't followin' you or nothin', it's just plain coincidence." He grins at me, causing me to blush and laugh. "Say, if um, you need any help, with your classes or anything... I'd be glad to help." Ponyboy tells me

"That'd be very nice, thank you." I smile at him and he embarrassedly smiles back. We both get some books to check out and walk out together. Ponyboy walks me home, saying it can be dangerous with some of the Greasers and Socs out. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow." I smile as we reach my street

"Guess so, I'll see ya 'round, Y/N." He waves as I walk up the steps into my house, blushing wildly. Ponyboy Curtis, he's some guy.
